My main gig bass is a USA Jazz with a maple neck which I have loved. I also have two other maple neck basses - a Fender Jazz Plus and a Matt Pulcinella level 4 which I played for a few years (the one in my signature pic). But lately I've been thinking about how nice it is to play the rosewood. It's a bit more mellow. especially with flats. aargh

Tried one of these in a shop last week. Really impressed with the bottom end capability and the range of tones available.
Obviously won't worry a rock drummer but I was looking for one for jazz gigs and would be prefect.

Ah, I was going to suggest a meet up half way but tricky without deep sea diving gear.

I'm concerned about how to package it so as not get damaged. Its long and thin but a heavy beast. Without a propper box I fear for the bridge and machine heads.
