I've got a LMII and I use a Barefaced Compact. Huge sound with a BDI 21 in front of it.

If everything is original as it states, shouldn't it have screw holes in the scratchplate for a thumb rest and pickup cover? Don't quote me on that, there's a lot of better people on here who could help out!

I hope this doesn't sound unfavourable but it works both ways too. I totally understand Howard has loads of respect and for good reason. But, if you have many people waiting to hear from you, you might want to find a way to get in touch just to let people know. I don't mind hearing that something will take longer than expected. I have issues when I'm not told and don't hear anything other than grapevine.. Please don't crucify me for that statement.

I agree with you -
Yep, Terry's the man.

Own a BDI21, very good. Previously owned several of the more expensive equivalents and it holds its own admirably.

Having been without a Precision for many years I finally decided that I once again needed one so I recently acquired this very nice 1973 model which I am told had a single owner for the past 30 years. It's a joy to play in that it weighs only 8lb 8oz.
All set-up with new set of DR LoRiders and now ready to rock.

And very nice it is too -

Warmoth P bass alder body in candy apple red. Bought direct from the Warmoth showcase. Very lightweight at 2.3kg. American p bass neck fits perfectly in the pocket with no gaps. Condition is used but very good with usual swirling, a few dings and some shallow paint chips under the pickguard. The paint on Warmoth bodies is very thin. I have shielded the cavities with copper tape. Pickguard is drilled for 70's spec and has holes drilled for bridge cover. Excuse the iphone pics!

I've had a few stock Silver Series Precisions over the years and they have all been top notch. I believe they were run out in the early 90's and have a good reputation overall. I always keep my eye out for them.

Tom bought a bridge off me. Super quick payment and comms. Trade with confidence!

Looks more like an early 70's to me

Sorry to hear this Lozz. I have the same taste as you in basses and amps. I was lucky to find two very light 70's Precisions which help with my hernias. Amp wise I have a LMII and a Compact. I lost my job a few weeks ago and have a new baby so keeping these will be tricky with mortgage etc. You seem to have your priorities right though so best of luck with your decisions!

Fantastic song, remember trying to play along to this as a 14 year old.

Henry Olsen was my favourite Primal Scream bass player, had a bit of class
