Peak Bowie for me.
read an interview with Dennis Davis where he said that Adrian Belew was the best lead guitarist he played with.
It was Belew's involvement, along with Roger Powell (Todd Rundgren's Utopia) & Simon House (Hawkwind), that made me check out the "Stage" album.

I like all of Bowie's bassists but if I had to choose it would be George Murray, which ties in with Visconti and the great Low / Scary Monsters era. If the link attaches here's George wielding a plectrum and a Travis Bean, the rhythm section feel is incredible
That band is just awesome.

Was at the Sunderland gig on Glass Spider Tour with Peter Frampton on guitar and Big Country doing the support slot.
Big Country were the highlight for me but thought Bowie did ok as far as i can remember.
Dave
I saw them in Cardiff. Big Country & The Screaming Blue Messiahs were superb. Bowie was very much a triumph of style over content IMO.
I saw Peter Gabriel in Birmingham a week later & that gig was everything that the Bowie one wasn't.

I've always been a Trevor Bolder fan so i'm a bit biased towards that era of Bowie.
Always thought Man Who Sold as having a completely different vibe (that i really liked) from his other albums of that era.
I've heard Gail and Tony Visconti on seperate non Bowie vids and was very impressed by them.
Afraid i drifted away from Bowie as he moved in 80's and didnt return to his albums until Blackstar. I liked occasional singles from albums but just couldn't get ito the albums.
Dave
I only really like a few of his albums & that tends to be largely because of Eno's involvement.
Saw him live on the Glass Spider tour & it's one of the worst gigs I've ever been to.

How has this still not sold?! The build quality is so much better than the US Fenders which are normally double the price. No CNC machines were used to make these basses!
I have a Woodline Craft series Jazz and it's one of the best J type basses I've ever played.
It has sold... 🙂

I have never carried spare strings for a bass, as I have never broken any on a gig. But I always carry a spare bass. If something goes I can swap it mid song and check what went wrong in the break. I wouldn't want to restring a bass mid song!
I don't gig anymore, but I never carried spare strings when I did. In 40+ years of playing I've yet to break a string.

Unless I know you well and it was a genuinely unfortunate and unexpected occurrence.....Just "no...."
You didn't bring a spare bass or spare strings. Not my problem.
This.

...I haven't listened to loads of Bowie and I've listened to even less of Bowie live...
I wouldn't class myself as a Bowie "fan" but you really should listen to George Murrays playing on the "Stage" album. Him & Dennis Davis are one of my favourite rhythm sections of all time. The version of "Stay" on that album is jaw-droppingly good.
The whole band on that album is just incredible, one of the best ever assembled IMO.

The Styx album 'Crash Of The Crown'
Is the Styx album good then? Not had a chance to hear it yet.
I thought "The Mission" was pretty good.

Awesome, thanks.
What's the condition like, any chips, dings? - looks great in the photos.
I've hopefully got somebody buying a guitar off me this week, if that goes ahead you shall be hearing from me again...

Can't choose just one, but my favourite albums of 2021 so far are:
Becky Becky - Maraca
The Anchoress - The Art of Losing
Gojira - Fortitude
Jean Michel Jarre - Amazonia
Adrian Smith & Richie Kotzen - Smith/Kotzen

Is this still available?
What are the controls on it? (couldn't see what the guy in the video was doing as the controls are out of shot)

Indeed, even worse than I thought!
If you listen to Dio (wot is a proper singist) sing it 'voltages' is very obvious, although it's clear enough when sung by Ozzy.
I like the albums Dio did with Sabbath but I can't stand him singing the Ozzy era stuff, just doesn't work for me.

Lyric sites just copy off each other, perpetuating mistakes.
Sometimes they copy across obvious errors (e.g. in War Pigs you'll probably find 'treating people just like chess pieces' instead of 'voltages').
It's actually "Treating people just like pawns in chess"...

Sold (via Gumtree. That was a waste of £7.00... 😂 )

To answer a couple of earlier questions:
Scale length is 34"
Weight (on my digital scales) is exactly 9lbs.
It also has 0% body fat.🙂
I would consider delivering this bass for the cost of the train fare if that's any use to anyone.

Whats the scale length please Rhys?
I’m pretty certain it’s 34” but I’ll check to make sure.

Very nice. Is it heavy? (weight-wise)
I don't know how much it weighs, but I've never thought of it as heavy.
I've certainly owned heavier basses.

Happens a lot around here. Lots of people cream their pants over the latest "must have", buy it & then sell it a few days/weeks/months later to fund their next wet dream purchase.

Interesting bass that Sheryl Crow was playing last night, some kind of short-scale Guild. Anybody know what it was?

I think it was some kind of short-scale Guild. -
The 80s were easily my favourite decade.

Some people, me being one of them, had basses ordered that were never fulfilled... 🤬
I ended up ordering a Jaydee because he flipped me around so much.
I heard that he did a runner because he owed a lot of people a lot of money. Don't know if it's true or not, but going by my dealings with him in the 80s it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
Also heard that he ended up working for Gibson.
