Nice one!
I'll think i'll use this thread as a resource when i build one.....you obviously watched alot of Blue Peter as a kid!

I used this as a resource too and am now the proud owner of a similar board. Mine has extra supports, a recessed bit for my power supply, and no carpet but otherwise pretty similar. I made it to fit in a messenger bag I had lying around. "Borrowed" wood, screws, glue etc from dad's garage, total cost = 4 quid for velcro tape. Will post pics when I stop being lazy. Cheers for the inspiration ben! -

Anyone else note the spelling mistake in the title of this thread.... just putting it out there.....
Edit- it's changed now in case anyone thinks I'm an idiot. -
I don't think the 20 somethings of today can do ANYTHING as well as their counterparts 20 yrs ago, whether it be socially, academically or whatever.
Yeah, well we certainly aren't as good at complaining, making sweeping generalisations or ridiculously rose-tinted nostalgia as you guys are....... like. -
My goodness am I tempted. Saving for amp first sadly. Can't believe nobody's gone for this!!
I like all the ideas. You guys probably need to be just a little bit tighter though for the full effect to come across. Either your drummer or your guitarist or both are rushing a bit.
Wicked riffs and grooves though.
It's the recording, was done stupidly quickly. I assure you we're tighter than that normally. -
Only good if you don't want to add any cabs...
Fair point. Still a good deal though, it's like getting a decent 4ohm cab for very cheap. -
Just wondering if anyone else has a vx3500 combo (I do). I've noticed a few folk with the 3500 head and a vx 4x10 cab, but not many with the combo, which is funny because it literally is just that head and that cab put together. You can take the head out in 2 minutes just by unscrewing it. And it's significantly cheaper than the head + cab would be. Just thought I'd put it out there.
Edit- there is a slight difference in that the cab in the combo is 4 ohm as opposed to the normal 8 ohm vx cabs. But that's a good thing, right? -

I ken but I have literally no money at the minute. Considering credit card/bigger overdraft/begging tho. -
Been seeing alot more LMII's on Basschat and Talkbass classifieds since the news broke.
Let's hope that keeps up for a few more months until I have enough money to bag me one! -
Sooooo, with the little mark 3 coming out, should I be expecting to see plenty of LM2's being sold off at bargain prices? Good Lord I hope so.
-
I got a couple of tw's at a bargain price and I'm putting them in my schecter elite 4 right now... needed to brag to somebody and here seemed like the best place! Anyone else own/use these delightful pups?

Schecter elite 4.

Hi everyone, I'm Robbie. I'm in a band called Mr Dirty (www.myspace.com/mrdirtyband). Been playing bass for about 6 years. Having often browsed your fine forum for info, points of view and good old gear porn, I thought I should actually become a member, especially as I'm about to embark on some improvements to my bass (a schecter elite 4).
Oh, and I use a Hartke 3500 4x10 combo (often take the head out and use it with whatever cab's going at gigs), an EHX bass big muff, an old boss mini-rack comp/limiter/gate and an MXR M-80 DI/Distortion. Also occasionally use an ART tube MP preamp for recording.
Nice to meet you!
So what do you drive to transport your bass gear around?

Seriously though, I usually walk if it's in town or borrow my dad's red citroen berlingo if i need to shift a lot of stuff (another postman pat lookalike).
