Total Watts

  1. This seems a really great price. Trying to resist the urge...
  2. I'm really pleased with the results. I'll have to get myself together and record some samples. The 8 coil pickup is very hot (not suprising) and full sounding. Then with the nfp you can get dub tones and most stuff in between as well as having an in built wah pedal if you wiggle the knob. But the graphite neck cleans everything up.
  3. Just thought I'd post the finished product. American Ash stingray body in gloss Musicman Hardware apart from Hipshot Ultralight tuners 8 Coil Herrick Pickup Controls are kill switch, then nfp filter preamp, then volume then 3 way switch (goes between 4 coil P humbucker, then full 8 coil, then 4 coil reverse P humbucker) Finally Status graphite MM neck with J Bass nut width
  4. Always wondered how this would sound. There plenty of MM + J combo basses out there but haven't seen this before
  5. Brilliant! Thanks, it's time to see what an 8 coil stingray sounds like!
  6. Thanks for the responses, so if I'm following then it's white and green to the bottom and brown and yellow to the left and right lugs respectively. Just like the diagram. Then wire the surround (earth) to where the black wire is in the diagram?
  7. I'm doing one myself at the moment with a "holoflake" finish. It's much much more subtle than a glitter or sparkle or anything like that. Just matt black underneath and then it's black but shines different colours in the light. You can get a decent result from a rattle can as well
  8. I apologise for my ignorance as I'm used to doing much more simple passive wiring jobs. I'm trying to wire a 3 way switch that looks like this The wiring diagram that I'm following is this one BUUUUT the colours for the wires on the diagram aren't the same as the pickup. Those are listed on the box and look like this Can anybody please help with what colour should go where? I know it should be a simple soloution, the pickup is an 8 coil pickup but can be split into using one of the pairs (turning it into a p style humbucker) the other pair (turning it into a reverse P humbucker) and all active for full 8 coil mode.
  9. PM Sent, as someone who has 3 graphite necks and didn't think it was realistic to get any more with how rare they are now, this is brilliant!
  10. Bought a number of basses from bassbros, they have come with some of the best setups I've ever played. Great company to deal with too. Never sold or part ex'd with them.
  11. I've got one of these and it's honestly one of the best sounding and feeling p basses I've ever played. Absolutely insane for the money, a lovely light satin finish on the neck and body.
  12. This looks absolutely lovely. The original bass is great I have one in the same colour, though the original pickup is one of the worst I've ever heard. Bet it sounds incredible with that ATK. You've inspired me to finish my own build project with one. I've fitted a real musicman pickup passively and am basically going to turn it into a 30 inch scale Joe dart.
