Is your preamp overdriving? there should be a couple of white plastic screws on the small circuit boards inside the control cavity it might help if you turn these down,if not then its highly likely a capacitor is crapping out on you,see if any oil is leaking out from any of them, hope this helps.
I don't think is overdriving. Second option about capacitor might be the cause but have no idea of electronics and wouldnt like messing with it, would prefer a professional to have a look and sort it out... -
Hello mate,
Speaking from experience, the best place to look after it would be the Gallery in Camden:

Martin in the workshop is the electronics guy and is a total pro. None of the sucking air through teeth malarky we've all had in the past! A lot of people depend on them to look after their instruments and they always do a fantastic job, and talk sense.
Hope that helps,
Cheers
Cheers, will give them a ring -
Please send me a pm if you have any specific info to share, thanks!

Hi all
I have a 18yo Warwick Streamer II and have a little technical issue.
The preamp when engaged makes a bad noise (sounds like muffled clapping...). A fellow bass player mentioned it could be preamp the wiring. I am considering changing the pups.
Does anybody know any good tech in London (near West London, W14 preferbly) that could please help me?
Any suggestions much appreciated
Thanks

Hi all
As the title says, I have an old (almost 18yo) Warwick Streamer II and have some preamp issues. I would like a tech to have a look at it. The main problem is that when the preamp is engaged it produces a bad noise, a fellow bass player thin might be just a small contact issue.
I am also thinking of upgrading pups, any suggestions in this area would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all, please PM with specific contact details for a tech if possible
PS I am based in West London, so local would be best if at all possible
Cheers
Cheers for the heads up on that.
What about those Muse sounds? Is it capable of doing a soundalike?
Hi Sean
Sent you a PM about my Oct. Sq. please let me know if you interested.
In relation to Muse sounds, yes I think it can do those plus many more but you will have to spend time to program them. The guy in Muse uses the AKAI bass synth pedal. -
Yes i believe it is the same Bass, thanks for posting that link, if there are any prospective buyers out there this site has embedded sound recordings of the bass. They give a good impression of the sound that the bass can produce, however the playing that has been done on the bass and the work/strings etc also make a big impact on the overall tone that is produced.
Thanks

Is really good and got lots of extra effects (fuzz, octave and filter) but you not so easy to program
Compressor Pedals.

there is a small article on compression on the latest issue of bass player mag, there is also a couple of pages with a review of the best pedals, could scan you a copy if you can't find it...
