I'd get it if it wasn't so huge. Shipping would kill me
-
What's the weight of the "head"? Is it still available? Also interested in the Peavey cabs but I fear they're too big to be shipped down here
-
Thanx! I've played thru a TP410 a couple of years ago and it was awesome for the price... can't imagine how the Pro Series could sound. Unfortunately isn't smallest or I'd go for it
-
Maybe
It's a shame. Have a bump for a nice cab at a nice price! -
As title really, Hartke 2200 Pro, not their lower quality transporter range, looking to sell as I've just upgraded and this is goin spare. Would most likely have to be a pick up jobbie due to the size, I'm based in Preston.
Is shipping impossible? -
LOL! It's EXACTLY what I was thinking of 20 seconds ago!

Tried the TL Audio but it wasn't the 5050, it was the 5001 if I remember right. Anyway, there wasn't a great difference in tone. I've also tried an API preamp, both thru my cab and thru studio monitors... the difference isn't worth the price. The TL audio was slightly nicer on the high end while the API was warmer and crispier.
I fear I should spend at least 600 pounds to have something _really_ better sounding than my ART. Opinions? -
I should be able to test a TL Audio Ivory 5050 tomorrow... a friend of mine owns one (and uses it in studio). The first thing I want to know is if there's a clear difference in use between my cheap Art MP and an Ivory, Ebony or ISA preamp. If I find the difference worth the cost I'll try to decide.
The Ebony A1 looks nice too... and I've heard good things about the Focusrite ISA (small version, about £460). -
Unfortunately these things happen but you have good taste for basses and amps. The right buyer is out there, you just need to be patient.
-
It's a lovely amp... strange it's still available. If I sold one of my bass I'd probably be interested
-
I'm probably going to put the bass on eBay, it really needs a new home.
-
A short clip... it had video too but mediacoder decided it wasn't good
As usual the bass has been played in flat without equalizer. Only a DI, power amp and a PA cab and the audio has been acquired thru a camera.

Hei! Sorry for the delay, I didn't see there were new replies...
I was keeping an eye on the TL Audio Ebony A1. It also has the "drive" knob... not a bad feature! Is the U5 able to drive a power amp properly? I see it only has the gain knob, no output knob... never tried one, unfortunately. -
You should check the blade magnets layout first. You shouldn't have problems but a weird layout could leave a string without the proper field.
-
Maybe but frankly I really don't know how much it's worth
Oh, I'll post a short video clip of the bass tomorrow. It sounds very good, a sort of bridge between a Precision and a Warwick -
Thanx, I'm glad you like it. I'm building two of them in 30" scale, both fretless.
-
Thanx for the kind comments, guys
I hope you all will take a look at myspace. I have lots of different body shapes. Not everybody's cup of tea but I'm going to create a couple of "traditional" body shapes soon. One will be my personal view of a 2009 J-bass (but with set-neck and "heel-less" construction - like all of my other basses). -
Thanx for the offer but unfortunately I've never been a huge Laney fan.
-
You're welcome!
Forgot to add that I'm expecially interested in PJB and Acoustic Image stuff. -
I have a short clip... I'll try to post it. Other pics? Sure!

It's a nice amp for sure! Why does it need to be serviced?
-
A straight sale is ok too and I'll try to make a nice price for BCers
-
Lovely bass, really. I'm surprised you still haven't found a deal for it.
-
Hello! Since I'm in the market for an amp I thought I could try posting out of my affiliates forum to give BCers a chance for a nice swap...
I'm looking for a good combo, a good cab, a tube preamp... drop me a line and let me know what you have.
What I'd like to give away in trade is an ex-demo bass built by me some months ago... I prefer 30" scale, fretless and 4 strings so it doesn't fit my style. The body shape is the "Swan" - 35" scale, 21 frets 5 strings. Completely made of Padouk with Bois de Rose fingerboard and Barts CB pickup. A very nice bass with a warm and punchy sound. Very good LowB. The new price for a 5er is €850 but since this one is an ex-demo it's worth less. I can ship the bass as is or defret it if the new owner wants me to do it... I bet it would be a good fretless too. I'm interested in pretty much everything "amp-wise" ... some examples: Ashdown or Hartke cabs/heads/combos, studio mic preamps (Avalon U5, Focusrite etc.), Behringer EP1500 or 2500+something else... straight trades preferred. I'm so in love with fretless that I'm almost tempted to get it myself
