It's coming out very nice! Congrats! Anyway I think it needs only minor work, should be ready soon.

Well... some curves would probably look better if hand carved (i.e. the lower horn inner part) but who knows? Some basses (like Status S2000) have "rectangular" edges that make the body of the bass a bit hard to wear. Anyway I liked a lot how the Ibanez Affirma (by Rolf Spuler) was made.
-
I like how it's turning out, really. I'd have made the body edges rounder but it's a matter of taste.
-
Plucking and slapping need different positions of the bass on your body... I'm not telling that body shape is "wrong", I'm only sayin it could make the bass lie too low on your leg.
-
I really like how it's turning out. My only doubt about that body shape is about the position the bass wil stay in when you play sitting. It will be too low on your leg and this could make slapping a bit tricky. Other than that, I really like it! This is the problem of all the small bodies, though.

I like "liquid", harmonic and soft shapes. Can't stand huge bodies or Fender clones but it's my problem

I like it!

Hello! I decided to go for only two models of cab so these woofers must go since they don't "fit". I thought it could be nice to have a wider selection but don't have enough time for so many different configurations... This is what I have:
1) Eminence Kappa Pro 15" - new in box - 8Ohm. Thomann price €119 - mine is €95
1) Eminence Delta Pro 12" - new in box - 8Ohm. Thomann price €129 - mine is €100
1) Eminence Beta LT 12" coaxial - new in box - 8Ohm. Thomann price €66 - mine is €50
1) Eminence Sigma Pro 18" - tested for about 20 minutes - perfect - 8Ohm. Thomann price is €155 - mine is €110
You can find all the specs on www.eminence.com
I'll consider all reasonable offers. Tradewise I could be interested in preamps (like Avalon, Art TPS/MPA, bass preamps) and active crossovers. I ship worldwide, ask for rates. Payment by PayPal or bank wire transfer.
I'll take pics if necessary. -
Replied!

What's the last price for the RPM?
-
Very very good conditions with original box. It's the same model used by Pino Palladino
€60 shipped. -
Very nice! I like that grill.

I love taller cabs too. They can be placed better and are IMHO easier to carry... we'll see.
-
Sure... 1x18" cabs can't be 30cm tall - the woofer dimension and the frequency response force me to build pretty large boxes but since all the measurements can be changed I guess I'll go for a standard width on all the models so they can be stacked.
-
Hello! As you probably know I'm a bass builder and I'm building my own cabs too. It would be very interesting for me to know what dimensions you would prefer for an enclosures. Example: some would prefer a cab as wide as their rack. Some would prefer a taller box... it's a matter of taste, needs and dimensions of your car, I guess
Please feel free to reply to this topic as all the options will be kept in considerations. -
I can't believe it's still here. A friend of mine has bought the same model and he's extremely happy. I think the dimensions keep peoples away from buying it but I think it's well worth the extra hassle.

As far as I know it's 50kg...

If I didn't have a 2500w power amp on the way I'd be over this. Any chance to split?

Mesa stuff isn't well known... or better, it's not as famous as it should be. I've tested the 2x10" and 1x15" and they're both amazing. £300 is a nicest price, I bet they'll sell fast.
-
I've never built an instrument like that but it can be done for sure
Anyway, if you already had a builder in mind, I'm not trying to steal a customer to other builders
I've found locally the same combo for sale so I don't know. -
A fretless with the right woods choice and pickup position can be used with a loud metal band without problems, don't worry.
-
Congratulations, they really look very well built. I've bought the BFM plans for the Omni 15 but don't know if I'll ever put one together. Have a bump!
-
This one has been sold... but I guess it was wide enough!

I can build one

I've built my 8 strings fretless in about a week
If I have to work only on one bass then 15 days could be enough. But as you can see my instruments are pretty simple.
