1. My very little used, unmarked PJB combo with manual is available as I am reducing my "collection".

£525 AND I CAN DELIVER TO MOST LOCATIONS FOR £25

You know you want it !!!!

Believe it or not I would consider a p/ex for a good pedal steel !!!! ;)

  2.
Ahh, what an excellent choice of basses.

    And influences of course.

I generally use an EB3 live too. What's your favourite out of the ones you listed?
The cherry EB3 is my absolute favourite and the one that gets the most comments on my bass sound. Th SG Supreme is more versatile and I use it on anything non Andy Fraser/Jack Bruce based numbers, and if I take either the Les Paul or the Fender Jazz they get used on Bad Co and Zeppelin songs.

Rarely do I take all 4 but it has been known !!!

Good to know there are still some Gibson Bass lovers out there !!!

    John

  4. Hi Everyone

Just discovered the site and well impressed !

I am an ex pro player of many years currently playing in a Heritage Rock Band which allows me to indulge my passion for Andy Fraser.

    Check out www.theproperboys.co.uk

I gig with a 61 Gibson EB3, a 2007 SG Supreme Reissue Bass, a 95 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Bass and a 77 Fender Jazz.

My rig is an old Marshall stack with a Super Bass 100 kicking out some serious volume through the two 4x12s.......the authentic sound for sure. I carry a spare Super Bass 100 as back up but never had the need to use, these things are like tanks.

For studio work I use a PJB Suitcase combo and occasionally use EBS, Dynaverb, Chorus, Overdrive, Compressor and Octave pedals.

I also play guitar and have a Gibson Custom Shop 336, a USA Telecaster and a selection of Gibson and K Yairi acoustics.

Have just returned from Nashville and have an irresistable urge to learn to play Pedal Steel.

Influences are Andy Fraser, Kenny Gradney (Little Feat), Chuck Rainey and Jack Bruce (weird assortment I know)

  5.
Hi all, I'm a bit new to this, so forgive any etiquette breaches...anyway, I am selling my very lovely 1969 Gibson EB2.....c/w hard case. It's in pretty good nick for it's age, plays well, sounds great. Apologies for the vagueness on price, but I genuinely have little idea as to its 'market' value. I'm in Brighton btw. Enjoy the pics, and do drop me a line if you're interested.

UPDATE....Not sure if this helps, but I've done a video of the eb2; may give a better view on the finish and condition.

    Here's the URL:

Im new to Bass Chat so apologies if you have already sold, is the EB2 still available?

    I'll probably regret this....
But here we have a very desirable Mesa Boogie Buster Bass 200 combo in excellent condition.
It's the 2x10 'wedge' version. 200W all valve. Now discontinued & very hard to get hold of.
    specs:

200 Watts, All Tube, Class A/B Power / 6x6L6-427, 3x12AX7

EVM Basis Speakers

Assignable 7 Band Graphic EQ

Parallel FX Loop w/Mix Level Control

600 Ohm XLR Balanced Out

Silent Record Mute Switch

Tone Luggage™ Transport System (clever slide out handle & wheels system)
More info here on the Mesa Boogie site

I had it completely re-valved when I bought it (off another basschatter) - with Mesa matched sets - which cost me £250 - so it's like a brand new amp. It's only had very little light home use & been to one rehearsal - & never been gigged.
The tone this thing puts out is quite fabulous.

I've only been doing recording work for the last year or so & I can't see me gigging in the forseeable future - & I just don't have the room for this & all my other kit. And I have a 1965 B-15 Portaflex that I use as a recording amp - so this lovely Mesa combo will just sit & collect dust...

£750 - & you'll need to collect (I can't trust this to a courier & it is heavy). Trades considered as well. I'm very close to J10 M40.
    Thanks.
I have a spare Marshall Super Bass 100 early 80's and incredibly loud, would you be interested in a p/ex with cash from me? I used to have one and should never have sold it !!!
