I reckon the price is good especially if it includes postage. (check that-I had to send it to them and they paid for it to get back).
Ahh I just read it, saying that it will include VAT and postage back but not postage to. -
They are hard to find because Fender make it that way. I was going to buy one until the economy went to poop and now I may as well save for an American version.

I coil my strings up and put them in an ice cream tub full of meths. Leave for 24 hours and then dry them and rub them down with a baby towel. You can keep doing this till the strings are nackered.
The guys at Ashdown are really nice and to be honest, if that price includes carriage I think it's very good.
What will they actually do in the service? (never sent one for service before) -
Ashdown have quoted me £69 to get a head serviced, that seems a little steep but it does include carriage. Where can I get it serviced for a lower cost? I live in Worcestershire.
I got mine from Soundslive.com at the end of Dec. I see its now gone up to £306.
Damn their popularity. May just get a second hand UK made Ashdown rig instead then.
What would be better this combo, or a Mag 250 (second hand) and ABM 2x10 cab? -
can be bought for only £275 and pushes out 300W on its own.
Where did you get one for £275? everywhere I have looked it has been £310? -
seems a bit steep as you can get a new mag 300 head for about 220-230ish.
are the older ones made in the UK, does anyone know?
This one is made in the UK. -
How much would you expect to pay for one of these heads used? They are asking £160?
But it is true that manufacturing entry-level/mid-level stuff in the Western world (Europe, Northern America, Japan, etc.) is counterproductive and silly, since there are China, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, etc. to cover this production. You can't escape the fact that it is cheaper to outsource production to developing countries.
The future for manufacturing in the Western world is in the high-quality, highly-specialized industry. Things that China and India simply can't make.
That would be true if the economy didn't flip itself on its head, the exchange rate is so that in the UK atleast it is costing a fortune to import their own products from China.
