  2. My jazz arrived on Friday but I was away from home so I've only managed to spend fifteen minutes with it this evening.

First impression - it's gorgeous, although the tint on the neck is a little bit on the donald trump side. The satin finish is lovely and the neck feels great. Electronics all work fine, although the balance across the strings needs sorting out, the pickup heights are obviously not quite right. I'm probably going to change the pickups to some dimarzios but I could easily work with what's in here.

There's also an annoying sympathetic resonance when I play the third fret of the D string, i think this is just the E string resonating thanks to a peculiarity of the setup and it will go away when I set the relief, action, and strings to my liking but it did have me worried for a minute!

You should always take first impressions with a pinch of salt but £259 brand new seems like a ridiculous deal to be honest.

Apologies if this has been mentioned, but what's the thoughts on the new Ida Nielsen bass

Pink is my favourite colour and I love Paisley / floral patterns....

...but that, there, is a monstrosity. All of the individual elements are OK but the combination is all wrong.

  5. Hey guys

I bought this kit and then decided to just buy a Thumpinator.

Kit is still "as it comes" - has the enclosure (which needs drilling) and all the bits.

"The MINI-HP-VONG is the little brother of the VONG filter. It has a 1M input buffer and an adjustable second order high-pass filter (-12dB/oct.). The cut-off frequency can be adjusted continuously between 30 Hz and 140 Hz.

This kit is a creation by Schalltechnik_04 in cooperation with Musikding.de . "

  6. Pros - it's a classic boss, inexpensive, built like a tank, has two band EQ, and a dry blend. Very easy to understand.

Cons - it's definitely a distortion and not an overdrive. The lowest gain setting is pretty dirty - this is my main complaint. Its also a bit noisy, presumably because its so high gain.

This is a pretty intense envelope filter. Picked it up recently but I prefer a more subtle filter so moving it on again.

    Photos to follow.

I'd be suprised if they were less than £1200, which would make them more expensive than the US made American Performer range, but then some of the current Mex made signature models are even more than that.

Its a safe assumption that the US ones will be getting a price hike, I should think.

    I'm afraid so :(

I had to downsize and it was a great bass, but that supernarrow neck that made me love it initially became the thing that made me not play it anymore...

    Noooooooooooooooo 🤪

Keep what you like, of course.

At one point I had 6-7 Jazz basses, 4 of which were Fenders. I only kept one, a '94 Korean battered Squier (no, not for deep frying, I just meant it had a lot of little marks and scratches)

You didn't get rid of that Vintage, did you? 😲
