1. WITHDRAWN FROM SALE I still like it too much to sell it, even though I really need the money haha!
2. Cheers buddy! I love the TonePump too. It's cutting and can be quite vicious, and boy is it hot! And it is indeed the non adjustable TonePump. Here are a few close-up images of the 'damage'. Although to be fair, the scratches can quite easily be buffed out, especially that the poly finish is so darn thick on these.
3. Bumparoo! Just gave it a fresh set of strings and a set up. Not sure why I'm selling it any more!
4. A few years back, Mark and I straight swapped a couple of Spectors. Got myself a nice blue Euro 4 from him, and he got my Euro 6 LX Spalted. And just this week, he bought the Euro 4 back off me! And despite a 'possible lost parcel' scare (TNT ), we kept good comms right throughout the transaction and was absolutely painless. A true gentleman. Thanks again Mark. Enjoy the 'Blue Beastie'... AGAIN!
5. Still for sale. Bumparoo! £800. Also, a few folk have been interested in the weight - 9.8lbs (4.45kg)
6. Bump and price adjust (why can't you edit the 'Price or Trade Value' field?)

8. Here is a pre-LX Spector Euro (2002) in a stunning blue gloss. Has the stock EMG PJ pickup setup, but the preamp has been replaced with a EMG BQS preamp. Unlike the newer Euro LX range, the first Euros have solid figured maple body wings. Usual 34" scale maple neck-thru with rosewood fretboard with the same MP/Abalone inlays they use on the new LX range. Frets are chunky with absolute minimal wear. This has been fitted with a Hipshot Bass Xtender tuner. Could be due a truss rod adjustment and setup. Included are Schaller strap locks (in Chrome, sorry!) and a Hiscox moulded hard case. There is a little grazing on the top of the headstock, and a slight ding on the side bottom of the body, but nothing serious. Has the usual thick and durable 'dipped in plastic' lacquer finishes we expect from Spector. The gold has worn a little on the bridge, which is quite common. No fret wear. Selling as I went all boring as I get older by starting to like Fender Precisions. Her name is Matilda. We've had some great times together. I'm unsure if I want to sell, so just putting the feelers out if anyone is interested. I would take a sensible offer for it if the right buyer came along. Can't seem to change the Price on this post, but my asking price is £800. UK Mainland Delivery for £25, 24h service and insured. Will deliver FOC in the NE UK.
9. This is an earlier (2006) Spector Euro LX 5 string, which has 2 EMG 40DC pickups and the Spector TonePump 9V 'Boost Only' preamp. The preamp output is soooo hot, it makes amps sweat! The controls have been changed over to feature Volume-Blend-Bass-Treble, rather than the stock arrangement of having a volume control for each pickup. The flame on the maple top is absolutely mesmerising, the photos do not do it justice, has to be seen in the flesh. Same construction as the newer Euro LX range, maple 35" scale neck-thru, rosewood fretboard with nice chunky frets and the typical Spector MOP inlays. Body wings are a sandwich of Alder back, Walnut veneer and flamed maple top. The neck is quite narrow for a 5 string, but fat. Feels great and plays fantastically, like butter in your hand. Could be due a truss rod adjustment and setup. Included are gold Schaller strap locks and a Hiscox moulded hard case. There are a couple of dings on the back of the body, a little grazing on the top of the headstock, and a tiny ding in the front of the body. However, Spector's lacquer finishes are so darn thick and durable, they are only on the surface of the lacquer. The gold has worn a little on the bridge, which is quite common. No fret wear. Selling as it's just not getting played as much as it should. It breaks my heart to see this one go, we have had some good times together. Her name is Betty. Whoever buys her must promise to treat her well, and play her every day. Sensible offers. UK Mainland delivery at £25, 24h service and insured. Will deliver FOC in the NE UK.
10.
Thats a real shame! Rosewood necked ones are hard to come by. I also have a 78 toaster. Both are great basses for different reasons.
It is a shame. When I found out that this is not what a T40 is supposed to look like, I was a bit annoyed. I may be on the prowl for a body, just to get it up to code. Interesting fact that the rosewood necks are not as common.
11. Awesome! I have a '79 T40, but the previous owner chopped half the body off making it neck heavy. Looks a bit ugly, but it was my first bass, and I just cannot bring myself to part with it. Has the toaster pickups, but heard those blades pack some punch. Has this sweet upper-mid honk which is so adorable haha!
12.
Is it because of the HSC that you raised 150£ the price?
Part of the rise was due to the HSC, in addition I was told by a BC member to raise the price a bit. Also, on a side note, the bass is gone... pending trade.
13. BUMPETY BUMP! Now including hard case, and also the option of sending by courier (UK Mainland) May also consider trades of a 4 string Spector EuroLX, or a 5 string Fender (or similar)
14.
Interested in trades?
Not at the moment, but down the line I'm looking for a Fender Jazz US Deluxe V, or a Sadowsky UV 5 string.
15. ***NOW SOLD*** A lovely Spector Euro LX 6 String Exotic top bass. Maple Neck-Thru neck, Rosewood Fretboard, Alder/Walnut Veneer/Spalted Maple wings, and finished in an incredibly tough hard-wearing clear gloss (which is a custom order for the Spalted Maple) . Spector TonePump active preamp (which is a hot hot HOT preamp, but sounds killer) and EMG pickups. This is an incredibly easy 6 string to play, the string spacing is perfect, the action is excellent, and has a good weight on it, but is perfectly balanced, I've never had shoulder fatigue at all. And just look at that gorgeous Spalted Maple!!! Selling quite simply due to the fact I don't play it as much as I should, and with a change of style of music I'm playing now, don't need something with this many strings. Only a couple years old, not a scratch on it, will come with a brand new set of Elixirs on it (£45 set of strings!). Had the controls modded from the standard NeckVol-BridgeVol-Bass-Treble controls to the more familiar Vol-Balance-Bass-Treble controls. I will include a ultra hard-wearing Hiscox Moulded Standard Bass case with this, and also the Schaller Straplock bits for the bass. I will deliver cash-on-delivery up to 50 miles for free from the Newcastle area, otherwise will be sent by courier for £35 (insured). You are also welcome to collect the bass. Looking for £900. On eBay at the moment, but would happily end the auction for basschat forumites! eBay Auction Link
16. Both items fully boxed with all the nik-naks, also both in near-new condition. I always look after my gear. I can't really budge on price, as any less I would feel I would be giving them away! Shure SLX Guitar Wireless Kit with Extra Cable - £200 (Street Price £550) Mackie Onyx 1640 16:4:2 Mixer with Firewire Option Card - £700 (Street Price £1400) PM me if you want more info. CHEERS!!!
17. Hi, I'm Glenn Minnikin, I play bass in a North East Melodic Rock band called Minnikin (I didn't choose the name, beleive it or not) and have been playing bass for 12 years, which accounts for half my life! I'm into Dream Theater, Metallica, Motley Crue, Killswitch Engage, Alter Bridge, Deftones, Foo Fighters, Rush, Porcupine Tree and allsorts of other 80's, 90's and modern rock bands. My bass heros are Billy Sheehan, Victor Wooten, John Myung, Stuuuuuuu Hamm, TM Stevens, Bill Dickens and af course the late great Jaco. I have two Spector Euro basses (LX5 Black Cherry and EX6 Spalted Maple Gloss) which I ADORE, and I use Ampeg amps (SVT4-PRO, SVT610HLF) with a dbx 160A comp and Shure SLX wireless, not that exciting but gets the job done. I still have my first bass which is a butchered 1979 Peavey T-40! Nice to see a nice friendly bass forum!
