Hello mate,  Mark mentioned the distortion noise at zero vol which disappears when vol is increased,  what do you think that might be?  D

Nothing to worry about imho. It's done it for years (i bought it like it) and only shows when you play it with the master volume completely off - as soon as you get the tiniest volume going on it the noise disappears. Essex Amp Repairs serviced it and had a look but couldn't find anything wrong with it. They resoldered some dry joints and changed the valve just in case but its not that. I would be confident to have it back and Marks price is really good. I had a TD660 at the same time and the 650 is a much better amp.

Thanks Jon,   it doesn't worry me,  I'm well into it anyway.  My TD350 is really noisy at the bottom end of the vol pot, but does'nt distort,, I've always thought it was a dirty strip in the pot probably caused by it sitting about..  At least the TD650 has a standby unlike the 350 so I'll just leave the vol  on a position above that distortion point and use the standby.   Looking forward to getting it mate, and thanks for your reply, I'm sorting a courier to pick it up from Mark this week,  again many thanks for helping out,  stay well mate,  David.
