Well I got it but my time leading to retirement is hectic, no rush, it will still be there in 4 weeks
-
Taking early retirement soon (end of May) where you used to get a carriage clock or a gold watch, we now get points that can be converted into vouchers
so after enjoying my novation circuit I decided to go a step further and treat myself to an MPC one +
was also because I wanted to use more electric pianos and other things that were probably doable on the novation, but easier on MPCand also because, I’m worth it 🤣
points were converted into Amazon vouchers and it was purchased along with a 128gb SD card, arrived Saturday as I’m out all day tomorrow

Korg Volca Keys Analogue Loop Synthesizer
Bought as a gift for my partner, mid December, but changed my mind and bought something else for her
I put batteries in it and turned it on, that’s it
I also bought a power supply as I didn’t have the correct polarity supply, that will be included
I still have receipt should the new owner need to use the warranty

Hey @sshorepunk - like the set up. Have you attached it all to a pedalboard yet?

Interesting, being thinking about this but haven’t go started yet.
How do you find it? Tell us more please. For instance how did you find the circuit tracks? How easy is it to connect different brand and sync them?
I found the CT really easy, followed a few videos on YouTube and got the hang of it
Tracks 1&2 are the internal synth, it’s very novation sounding (I have an ultranova)
Tracks 5,6,7&8 are drum / sample tracks, plenty of sounds and packs can be added if you have an SD card using Components software
Tracks 3&4 are midi so they control the Roland SE-01 and Korg volca
The audio from the Roland and volca go back into the CT so can b mixed in with the other tracks so you don’t need a mixer unless you add more synths
For me it’s better using a keyboard like the Arturia, but it needs to be set up right so the CT is the main clock for when using the arp’
Also, I can’t play the ext synths with the arturia yet, just waiting for midi merge and midi thru boxes to arrive
Then I’m putting it all, except the keyboard, on a cheap pedal board with all the cables, including power, tucked underneath
Hope that helps

Detaching myself from my Mac and all the other stuff that makes up my DAW is something I really liked the idea of, so have recently got myself a few bits and pieces that can make a kind of portable set up, that I can use anywhere in the house
And in the garden once it warms up
it’s been good learning how to use a standalone sequencer and also delving into midi deeper than I’ve ever needed too!
Picture of everything laid out whilst I worked through a few problems
Should all be nice and neat today, providing my midi thru and midi merger arrive

Bought this album back in 1980 when I was 15
Paul Grays first album with The Damned
Playing a Ric’ 4000 (correct me if I’m wrong)
If you’ve not heard it, it’s the band starting to head off in different directions, but you got to check out the live side of this double album (I play the vinyl a lot, hence the vinyl reference)
Especially Smash it up part 1, the bass sounds so good and is right up there

I know it’s been mentioned a couple of times, but I really like the look of the Ashdown Roasted Capri
Ticks a lot of boxes for somebody like me who has been contemplating trying SS!
Not a road I’ve ever been down for very long, apart from the odd bass I bought on a whim many years ago
Anybody got one?
Cheers

I posted this in the GB owners group on FB earlier today

Haven’t seen that bass for many years. It’s not a Rumour. I made it to the customers spec and is the only one of its kind. If I remember correctly it has or had two D tuners fitted. It couldn’t be made now for anything like the asking price.
its a bit special! Good luck with the sale

Ian king has a YouTube channel where he talks you through the various jobs he gets
A recent one was for ITV’s New Years Big Bash at Wembley Arena. It’s a good insight into what’s involved when you are doing that sort of thing

House Of Tone Jazz Bass Pick Ups
These are the 62 wind version of these pickups from this well respected brandSpare Off white pick up covers included
From House Of Tone website
'62 and 70's style J-bass pickups use flat Alnico V magnets with original spacing for the bridge and neck positions. Plenty of spank and more forward mids on the bridge and a big yet clear neck. As with all our pickups it’s all about the articulation and balance between the strings. The '62s have a touch more mids and gain while the 70's is a bit less aggressive with more presence and upper mids due to the lower resistance. Cloth covered hook up for '62 or vintage correct plastic for 70's. Available in black or white covers. 5 string models available as well. DCR: '62 8.2K bridge, 7.8K neck, 70's 7.6k bridge, 7.2K neck.*RWRP

Or simply put, one is needing money when the other is trying to make some...
It wasn’t so much about the price, more that two came up, but it is that time of the year!

Not sure where to post this so ……
Two of these popped up on FB marketplace today
One at £800 and one at £495!
The guy selling at £800 is getting a bit of stick!
The £495 bass is in Gateshead
Theres that old saying ‘Like buses’
it is FB marketplace though, so both could be total b@ll&cks 😳
