  1. Had issues with my HB MP-4MN, active side problems, decided to go to dedicated passive, was pointed in the direction of John, he sorted me out a loom, which is really great quality and workmanship, all arrived very quickly too, included instructions a blanking grommet and even a little screwdriver to use on the connectors, that is a great touch. This Bass has never sounded so good, well chuffed.

    Cheers John :)

  2. Just too start with, I modded my HB P bass with SD QP's and pre made CTS wiring and new hardware, the same with my SX Jazz with Diddario's and again pre made CTS pots, wiring and hardware, so just straight swaps, both are fabulous Basses now, well too me anyway.

I have a Harley Benton MP-4MN, love everything about it bar the mounting issues with the electrical side of things, had to re solder pots on Pup selector and a few other joints as lots of dry joints and poor wiring, even with this done the sound distorts now and then, the volume crackles on and off too, been in touch with Thomann and worked on the suggestions they have made to no avail and apart from sending it back to be sorted, which is a pain, and if I am honest with the current standard of work and components is anything to go by I will have the same issues again at some point.

I love the feel and the Quality of the bass, the way it looks and the way it plays, so its ripe for a modification, tired of the Active stuff as the rest of my basses are passive so would like to make it straight passive, I would like to change the Pup's which are P Bass and Humbucker,  however I would not know where to start apart from buying Pots and Pup's, the electrics side of things bar soldering it all together stumps me completely.  Also could I buy P Bass pickups from one manufacturer and a Humbucker from another without any issues of compatibility, can I get a custom wiring loom made somewhere, lots of questions/issues so any help would be great. Thankyou.

  3. Bought new by me from Andertons 21/08/20. Very little use, two tiny little surface marks on back and very slight wear to the glossiness by the Jack where lead has rubbed, shown in bottom 2 pics, no chips or dents at all, otherwise totally mint, stunning looking.  All standard including very lightly used D'Addario XL strings, manual and box.. Selling as I really just like my P and Jazz Basses, what can I say, just prefer that style of Bass. Collection from Maidenhead, Berks.

    Now £250, absolute bargain

I've made nuts before with one of those bones you can buy for the dog for £1. Took about an hour and very satisfying. (assumes you have files and stuff)

Was always fabricating stuff for my Motorbikes over the years of riding them, happy to lighten that a bit nowadays, went with a bone nut, in the perfect world I would go with Carbon Fibre one but that wouldn't last five minutes, perfect for a scratchplate though, albeit an expensive one. Cheers for all the input.

Very little use, two tiny little surface marks on back, no chips or dents at all, otherwise totally mint, stunning looking.  All standard, apart from some new lightly used NYXL's on it,  have the box somewhere too. Selling as I really just like my P and Jazz Basses, what can I say, just prefer their style of Bass. Collection from Maidenhead, Berks.

  8. I decided to keep my SX JB75, despite issues with the Gloss neck, that have been improved somewhat by using a window cleaner on the neck instead of Mr Sheen and as I read elsewhere washing hands before playing. So I have decided to have a mod session with this one too, have done all the shielding, sticking with the bridge and tuners as they are very good, so just new pots, scratchplate and of course new Pup's. I am very pleased with the Seymour Duncan QP's I put on my P Bass so could just go with their Jazz QP's, however, the DiMarzio J Bass DP123 have got my interest as well. I would like too keep fairly close to the Jazz sounds. As a newbie to Jazz's I was unaware that the two Pup's are different sizes, is this normal on all Jazz's? The Dimarzio's look about right spec wise to what I have in the SX (92 and 94mm long) however cant find any specs on the SD's, would they be the same?

    Thanks in advance
