1. It would remove some potential loss of friends, either through distrust in my ability to organise a party, or at worst. death.
But that wont happen....

Usually for band practises we can run a mixer some amps a set of monitors and a pedal board all from one plug and several extension leads plugged into one another. But i have pretty sure that us not being injured from that yet isn't something to be bragging about.

2. I'm hiring some HO7 extension leads, am yet to actually go to a shop and hire them so i'll ask this there too but as Basschat hasn't failed me yet i thought i'd post this here too.

So yeah anyway, i'm hiring HO7 extension leads and was wondering if it's 'safe' to put a 4-way plug adaptor into that.
It's for a gig and so the HO7 cable would run out to a marquee and onto a stage then the adaptor would lie on the stage, so it's all covered and such like, and then plug the amps into that.

Does that sound safe?

I think it'd be 'ideal' to hire 8 or so HO7 extension leads and plug everything in seperately but given i have no great grasp of physics and am used to plugging loads of extension leads into one another and just turning it off when i start to smell burning plastic i think think i'm a great judge of this.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

(by the way the burning plastic is from a mixer i liberated from my old school, then had it fixed as it was broken...damn school. And the fan wasn't ever fixed...until recently when it went and started for no reason)

3. I'm organising a gig that's gonna be held in a marquee.
I've hunted down some outdoor use extension leads but have to get some circuit breakers (there's a lot of equipment all plugged in that could blow here)

So does anyone know if there's a specific thing i should be looking for or if all circuit breakers are the same?

(i'm starting to think i should've paid more attention when i was being taught physics)

thanks.

4. Morning.

I've been trying to work out what settins my fx pedals should be on to play some songs i wrote a while back, but despite fiddling about i just can't seem to get the right noise on one of them.
It sounds very much like the bass from N.I.B - Black Sabbath

So does anyone know how to recreate that sound?
(preferably using any of the following pedals...
flanger
eq
limiter)

If not them then any other fx pedal, i have a multi-fx n i might've done it using that but to name all the sounds on that could take a while

Thanks.
Enjoy.

5. I'm organising a gig/party which is happening about 6m from the house, in a marquee.
I was wondering if anyone had done anything like this before and knew about how to get a power cable outside, without the risk of...well anything otherthan perhaps falling over a wire.

Would a massive extension lead suffice? or should i look into something a bit more sensible.

Thanks.
Enjoy

I'm in Liverpool and their store there sells various types in big sheets pretty cheap.
Try the Chester store.
A chester store...i was in chester yesterday...

I shall have a look next time.
Thanks for that.

7. The RC-20 does have some built in drum patterns but they aren't astoundingly good.
They keep rhythm well, as it has a built in...something. I dunno what they called it but quite simply, it keeps time without you having to input what timing you're playing in.

But there are very few types of drum rhythm for it to play.
I think the smaller Boss loop station might have more drum rhythms, i think i read that somewhere...

Can't help you with the part but you might want to repost in the 'Items Wanted' section.

might get more views.

9.
Not much to you I know but there's a great "foam cut to size" stall on Norwich (permanent) Market - I guess you may be able to find a similar outlet somewhere closer to you?
Actually there might be some thing like that near me, we have a few markets and i can imagine one of them sell foam.
If not then i've just found on ebay an upholstery supplier who sells foam padding for seats...
Not quite what i wanted but so long as i can cut holes in it then it'll work for me.

10.
If you're a high street buyer - i.e. don't have trade accounts with suppliers, then Maplins might be worth a shout as they seem to stock this sort of stuff - might be expensive though.

There is a member on here called obbm who makes cables to order, you could try him?
oo thanks, and yeah i am a high street buyer.

11. I've just bought a mixer and there's two outputs.
One RCA and a stereo pair of 3/4" jack outputs.

I was wondering if anyone knew where i could find an RCA --> 3.5mm connector.
Not an RCA--> 3.5mm lead but a connector so i can plug a set of headphones into the RCA outputs.
(the bottom righthand connector in this image...)
http://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/view/24...-accessory-pack

I would buy that but it's £30 quid and i only want the one connector and i can't find any other connectors on their website or by google searching.

Also.
Does anyone know where i can find a 3/4" jack cable that Y-splits into a stereo 3/4" jack.
I dont know if that makes sense so i'll try and explain what i'm trying to do.
I want to link the stereo outputs on the mixer, two 3/4" outputs, to my monitors, which go through one 3/4" intput.
So i'm looking for either a Y-split cable or a Y-split connector that can do that.

Thanks.

Long live BC.

12. I have a Boss RC-20XL which is realllly damn good.

And someone i know has the one pedal version which they say is also really good.

Only problem is that the RC-20 price keeps jumping up so i wouldn't wait for the price to drop...it wont. (mine took several months to arrive due to a stock failure on behalf of Dolphin music and in that time the price rose, literally, about 70 quid).

Someone might have one second hand, someone on here was selling one ridiculously cheaply a while back.

Hope this helps.

13. I've just bought a mixer which came with a flight case but the flight case it easily big enough to also store several pedals in it, i was wondeirng if anyone knew where i could buy sheets of foam padding. I'm looking for 1" thick sheets about the size of an A3 piece of paper, though i could always cut things down to size.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Thanks

14.
Cabs have a habit of looking small in shops and on stages but ridiculously large in one's house - exactly what you don't want!

Alex
that's what i thought, given it was up against several other amps.

15. I was in Dawsons the other day and i'm sure the LD150 they had was smaller than the one in my room.
Have Line6 changed the model specs. or was it just that it was up against some much bigger combos?

I've had my amp for a few years now so they could've just changed the size a bit, it was just quite wierd cause their amp looked several inches smaller than mine...

Anyone?

Thanks.
