I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed my Sue Ryder P bass - less warmth and more punch. The Bravewood Telebass I owned was nice, but I prefer a split pickup tone...I don't like artificial relic'ing either.

Yeah I woulda said £500 too as a starter
-
That's purdy

The most over-rated band in history
Very influential etc but I have never actually listened to 90% of their stuff. Not hostile, just never went there.

Have to completely disagree, the most over-rated band in history is either Metallica, or ACDC. -
Kubicki Basses, although, I do tend to think fat neck basses have better tone - my hands are too small though, so I play fat neck guitars

Me too, the legacy's gorgeous - BassDoc for a black scratchplate after purchase, you know it makes sense
-
Gorgeous, my birth year too!!
-
Love this band. have all the CDs - one of my favourites as a kid . Difficult basslines to copy mind!! Well...back when i was using tab
-
Hmm...NEXT!!!
-
Seriously nice

I was hell bent on getting one of these last year, just couldn't get the grand together - it's very rare they're up second hand!! The Ox Blood tolex looks classy too

Tis a lovely looking bass, it has to be said. I love the 'dull' yet funky sound of a Warwick, more defined than a Precision - the infinity is the best looking model, without a doubt.

Then don't buy an American Vintage '58 or '62 or '63 or '64. Get the '74 with the thumb rest above the strings which always would get in my way.

Hahaha, I think it looks cool on or off, the more holes in the scratchplate the better - just wish they had the mutes by the bridge so there would be even more holes when I didn't need them. Seriously though, I've owned 2 American Vintage Fender's and neither were worth £1,700. -
Gotta be Steve Harris.

That's an awesome offer, if only I had the time for a project
-
It's got to be the Warwick Vampire, although, the Buzzard looks pretty sh*t when the headstock doesn't match the style of the body.
-
Bob Dylan's bass player used one of these and an upright when I went to see him, looked very comfortable and had a nice presence.
-
No worries, I wouldn't mind the guitar version - they look cool, I don't know how they sound
-
You mean a Gibson SB400?
-
Noooooo . I'll have to go sit under his study window with a couple o steak bakes n wait for him to his daily scales lol
-
Sweet pic! ^^ I'd love to see the Scheff, damn living in this geographical extreme
-
If you want to put Fender's current prices into perspective, go into somewhere like Guitar Guitar and see what else you can get for the same price. The £2k+ custom stuff (Rory Gallagher Strat etc) is just a flat out rip, no two ways about it.

I'm not worthy. I think I should just shrivel up and die.

Don't forget to sue your parents first!! -
That is a stunning piece of timber, it's really difficult parting with basses this nice - a well grafted piece of art ...Oh! And i'm sure it sounds lovely too
Diamond Dave wants Michael Anthony........

I don't think it will happen, Sammy & Michael are best mates. DLR's a better performer, but Sammy's a better singer, so Mike can't lose either way I guess...
