Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me out with some info. I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on a Cort B4 Element, but I’m struggling to find any specs relating to its neck. I’ve heard they’re pretty slim, but could anyone confirm/deny? My frame if reference would be how they compare to an Ibanez SR neck. thanks in advance 🙂

Wondering if anyone has experience of the 150 watt version of this? There fairly new and the only review I can find on YouTube is in French 🙂 Thanks in advance 👍

The music is live! We play everything on the backing tracks, and it’s cheaper (and less hassle) thank recruiting another musician 😁

Thanks for the reply. I generate the click track using a midi track on it’s own channel. Forgive my ignorance, but is bouncing two mono tracks into a stereo track (and panning them), not the same as bouncing the mono stems in the project down to a stereo track, again with the panning? Thanks 🙂

The file is configured as a stereo file with the click and panning baked in, and it’s being outputted straight from an iPhone, but with a decent stereo splitter. It’s a setup that’s worked previously with other backing tracks that weren’t made in Logic. Could you elaborate on how would two separate mono tracks work? I’m struggling! thanks

Hi all. The cover band I’m playing in are going to be using backing tracks to fill it the live sound. We’ll be be building the tracks ourselves, so we’re looking for a recommendation on what to use to actually play them. We’ve tried the usual MP3 with the click panned hard left, but there’s some awful bleed on the FOH (right side). Can’t get rid of this no matter how we set configure it in Logic, which I’m told is a known issue. So, we’re thinking about using the ShowOne app so we don’t have to bother with printing the click at all. I’d be really grateful for some insight from anyone who’s used the ShowOne app regarding it’s stability, how to connect it, etc. Thanks in advance 🙂

It’s taken some getting used, that’s for sure! I lost the sight about a year ago to optic neuropathy, and the biggest thing from a playing point has been not being able to see the feet dots on my Fender Mustang (which aren’t exactly easy to see for anyone!) away from playing, I’ve bumped into a lot of doors and people in supermarkets. Could always be worse 🙂

The sounds are definitely a step-up, too. Zoom have really done well with this one.

I upgraded to a B6 this week, after using a B1 Four X. To be fair, I never used the B1 to its full potential, but I was happy with what it could do. I upgraded to the B6 in large part because since I lost the sight in my right eye, I needed something that was easier to see, so the upgrade would have been worth it just for that. However, this thing is amazing. 1 hour out of the box and I managed to set it all up for my needs without having to go anywhere near a computer. The effects are top notch, the modelled amps are pretty spot on, it’s got two inputs and a DI. I’ve read a lot about it being ‘only plastic’ (which is true), but there’s plastic and there’s plastic. It’s not made from yogurt pots so I’m not sure what you’d have to do to damage it. It’s sturdy, but I suppose if you abused it badly it’d break, but that’s true of anything. I was initial hesitant, wondering if it would be that great an improvement on the B1. This just in: it definitely is.

I was just about to pull the trigger on on R800, but looking at some forums it seems that some users are experiencing a clipping/popping issue with it. Apparently it's a known issue. Anyone had experience of the issue?

Thanks for your comments, really appreciate it. It sounds like it could well be the best option for me, and I actually have a Zoom B1 Four at the moment and was thinking of upgrading to the B 2 Four for the DI out, but that probably isn’t necessary. it’s such a simple, elegant solution 🙂

After much deliberation on what amp/head/cab I would need for gigging - thanks to all who chipped in on my other thread - I’ve thrown another spanner into my own works. I was wondering if using a modelling unit, like the new Zoom B2Four, with a single active PA speaker would be useable. in theory I can’t see why it wouldn’t work, but in practice I’m sure there’d be issues. grateful for the views of anyone who might have used a similar setup. Thanks!

After doing a bit more research (it never ends!), I'm tempted by the Trace Elliot Elf and 1x10 cab. Looks giggable to me. Does anyone have any experience of this setup?

With that in mind, I’ve been leaning toward the Peavey Max 150 because it has a tilted baffle. Just not absolutely sure that 150 watts will be enough, but as has already pointed out, it’s not just about watts.

We’re probably not even as loud as a three piece jazz outfit!

Really helpful (and informative!) replies which have given me a lot to think about. It ain’t easy this bass player thing, is it? one other option I’ve looked at today is the Fender Rumble 800, not the Stage one. It’s lighter, packs more wattage, and appears to be available for only about £40 more than the 500 at DV247. Makes me wonder why. Is it a lemon of an amp?

I’m definitely looking at combos, the lighter the better, and I find myself thinking the Ashdown Studio 15 ticks every box on paper at least. But as there are very few gigs played on paper, does anyone have real world experience of the Studio 15?

Hi. After years of being a studio based player, I know find myself in 2 bands, and so I’m in need of an amp. For info, one of the bands is a cover/functions band doing all the usual suspects. This band has full PA so I’ll be going DI with them. The other band is an Americana type band ( 2 x guitars, drummer and singer), and I’ll be using back line only. I’ve read a lot of threads about the watts needed for live gigs, some of which say 100 watts is enough, others saying 500 watts is the minimum. I’m confused! I’ve been thinking about the following amps as contenders: Peavey Max 150 Ashdown Studio 15 Hartke Kickback KB12 Various Fender Rumbles What I’d like advice on is: how many watts is enough, and are any of my shortlist worth their place on stage? For context, I’m only looking at light combos as I’m old and weak…😊 Thanks in advance 👍

Hi, I’m considering getting a Fender Mustang player but obviously can’t get to a store to try one. I’ve been able to find the neck specs for width, radius and string spacing, but I can’t find any specs in the neck thickness i.e the measurement from the the fretboard to the back of the neck. I’d be grateful if anyone (maybe an owner?) would be able to shed some light on it. Thanks 👍
