  1. I've reached out via email to all 3 email addresses on the website 3 times now and have sent 2 DM's. What is going on? I'd seriously appreciate it if someone could shed a bit of light with the radio silence if possible please.

I trust the Guykers did the trick.
(I bought some to check them out and found that mechanically they were fine, but finishes were very inconsistent.)

Did you get a satisfactory outcome for active passive for your UNI 5K?

    Hiya

I have sent you another email and DM but still no response. Could you get back to me when you are able to please.

    Thank you! 😊

    Hi BC-ers

Firstly, Russ, thanks for your kind concern for my health. I'm glad to say that I'm very well and feeling good.

Apologies for being elusive on the support side during recent months, but unfortunately, needs must, as outlined below.

(I'll respond individually to those who still have outstanding enquiries)

To explain briefly, what started out as a minor production blip with some custom parts further snowballed, compounding the issue to a level that required a good deal of hands-on work from me for several months to keep things rolling. Thankfully, we're through it all now, and our UK assembly supplier has bounced back.

This period highlighted a weakness - support relying entirely on me. So, now there are 3 email support tiers: Info, Sales, and Technical, to facilitate sharing the load.

    Hiya John

I'm glad to hear all is ok health wise and such and the business blip has been remedied!

If you could get back to me about a DJ retro it would be highly appreciated 😊

    Thanks! 😊

  5. I've even found his profile on here and dropped a message but nothing for weeks now. Anyone in the know or have any alternatives at all?

Thanks for the replies so far though all

  6. Hi all

Has anyone had any recent contact with the guys at East? I've tried to make contact several times recently to get a DJ retro and have had zero luck. Are they still going or stopped now?

Any help would be seriously helpful.

    Many thanks

    Aj

  7. Hey all,

My sincere apologies for the stupid title, it's difficult to describe hahaha!!

I'm curious to know what is the brightest bass you've owned/played with the most sizzle on the top end? While still retaining good low end. Ideally a 5 string but not essential. I'm basically in the market for a new 5er with about £1k-1.5 budget.

    Thanks as always!!

Very late to the party but yesterday an MJ5 arrived from Thomann, in vintage champagne- basically their version of shoreline gold. Some slight marks on the scratchplate and neck pickup but no issues with much else. It has the roasted maple fretboard- is the protector that comes it with strictly necessary?

Gigged it twice already. Last night we had a tricky room to play in and I couldn’t really get a handle on the tone I’d set up, especially coming from a G&L ASAT which has been my mainstay for years, but tonight was much better. Sounds great, completely  different flavour but enjoyed it.  Also, much lighter and very well set up straight out the box. Got to get used to the pickup pan working the wrong way round and my fx patches are going to need a tweak, but it’ll be fun.

How would you describe the tone and build quality? I'm thinking about getting one of these very soon and have heard so many mixed things!

  9. Hi all,

Does anyone know anywhere in the UK that has stock of Lakland gear, specifically either thr DJ5 or 55-02.

I'm really struggling to find anyone who stocks anything Lakland. I've tried most of the usual suspects.

Rare as rocking horse doo doo it seems over here now!! Gutted as I'm desperate for one and ready to buy 😞

    Thanks all!!!

  10. I'm highly considering the following.

    Either a Lakland DJ5

    Or a G&L L2000/2500.

    Anyone had or used both?

Versatility is absolutely essential to me. I do tend to prefer a more agressive sort of bass tone to be honest with thunderous low end but good top end sizzle. Think Justin Chancellor style tone.

I'd also be interested if anyone is selling either. Particularly the G&L's as these are becoming rare as rocking horse doo doo over here as I don't think anyone is selling them for some reason.

    Many thanks as always!
