For sale is a 1974 Fender Musicmaster Bass, a classic short-scale Fender with unmistakable 1970s character. Lightweight, comfortable, and full of vintage charm, this is a great example of a 50-year-old Fender that remains very usable and musical today. The bass has a clean, straightforward feel and delivers the warm, direct tone these Musicmasters are known for, especially well suited to roots, indie, recording, and vintage-inspired styles. Condition This is a vintage instrument and shows honest cosmetic wear consistent with age, including knocks and marks to the body, but nothing unsightly or structural. The bass plays and sounds great throughout the neck, with heavier fret wear in the upper register (around frets 16–18), which may limit clean articulation high up the neck for some players. This is typical of vintage instruments that have seen decades of use and primarily affects the highest frets, which are less commonly used on a short-scale bass. New frets likely would address it – but I personally didn’t feel the need to. The neck is straight, the truss rod works as it should, and the frets still have usable life remaining. Originality Body appears to have been refinished in black at some point in the distant past; however, the job seems to have been done in nitro and the finish already aged well. Pickguard is believed to be a later replacement. Brass nut fitted. All other parts appear to be original. Setup Currently fitted with Fender classical nylon black strings (28–43). Properly set up and comfortable to play. Specs Model: Fender Musicmaster Bass Year: 1974 Scale length: Short scale Weight: ~3.2 kg Finish: Black Fingerboard: Rosewood Controls: Volume, tone Pickup: Original-style Musicmaster single pickup Summary A genuine 1974 Fender Musicmaster Bass with tasteful aging, solid playability, and classic short-scale Fender tone. Best suited to players and collectors looking for a vintage instrument with character rather than a case queen. Happy to answer questions or provide additional photos. Sold as described and pictured.

SADOWSKY METROLINE RV4 BASS - MADE IN JAPAN (2008) - WITH ORIGINAL CASE IN LAKE PLACID BLUE. Great condition with original case. Zero fretwear. Got it in a trade, but more into vintage basses. Not to be confused with the more recent (and inferior) Chinese built MetroExpress basses, this is a fantastic Tokyo built MetroLine RV4. Open to offers and partial trades with cash my way.

Open to partial trades and cash offers. This Instrument is an exclusively hand-crafted unique product. Low action and minimal relief. This guitar plays evenly up and down the board with no buzz. The frets and board have almost no wear at all. Electronics are stock and function as intended. There was a small finish chip that was repaired at one point or another between the neck pickup and fretboard extension, which is barely noticeable. --- Luthier: Jens Ritter Serial: 0643 Hardware Color: Gold Body Wood: Swamp Ash Body-Color: Black Piano + Red Champagne Body Finish: Transparent High Gloss Neck-Wood: Maple Neck-Finish: Transparent High Gloss Neck-Color: Red Champagne Fingerboard: Olive Ash Scale 35" (889mm) Pickup Bridge: RITTER Slimbucker Pickup Neck: RITTER Slimbucker Electronics: RITTER MASTER Parametric Tuners: RITTER BT - Custommade by Gotoh Nut: Bone Weight: 3.9kg Case: Original Case front.mov back.mov

Up for sale and trade is a bass which was allegedly owned by legendary bass player Arvell Shaw, long-time bassist of Louis Armstrong. I got this bass from a private collector in the UK with very good reputation who purchased the bass back in 2008. The reason why I mention "allegedly" is because I was not able to find any evidence (e.g. pictures or references online of Arvell playing the bass). I guess if I managed to, this bass would be worth 3-5x its listing price, but I honestly have no interest in investing the money and effort at this time on trying to authenticate it. Either way – this bass is justly priced as an all original 74 Ripper bass, in good condition with the added bonus of having an interesting story. Comes with the original hardshell case and some Arvell Shaw memorabilia.
