There is a thick 100mm screw going into the body so i don,t think I,ll have any probs with weight/leverage etc , if anything it,s probably a little over engineered, still if it does snap I,ll let you all know so you can have a good giggle!!
Hi dave!! I did think about lopping off the headstock but I like the inlaid rose too much!!!! -
I'm never selling any of mine, ever.
I,ve always had that sentiment, unfortunately there is always something else along the way and if you,re not careful you end up tripping over cases all over the place!!!!! -
If you are going to buy off the bay try this, it ends soon and will probably be a bargain looking at how much it is now!

The switcher unit that,s at the top of the rack just below the pedals does the switching, all I have to do is select a patch from the pedal board onstage, It,s like using a multi effect unit but using my pedals as the effects.
The pedal board lets me program what effect chains i want so I can switch in multiple effects in and out with a single step. -
Here,s an idea!!! the guys in the band said "that,s crazy" so I guess this is where this idea belongs.
I,ve been on a quest to get a antonio tsai inlaid 7 string bass into a playable condition and after many hours of fret stoning it now plays a treat but I still had the problem of the fact it is neck heavy due to the fact that the top horn is not long enough so...
I had this made :-) -
Quick Update, The pedals are now in place and all I have to do is make up the 32 jack to jack leads to lace the whole thing up.
-
The only rack I have used up till recently is my svt amp rack that I know some of you folks have already seen but for some time now I have been wanting to get my pedals in a better set up than just stomping about on the stage in the dark so I,ve decided to make the Ground Control rig I,ve been schemeing about a reality, so..........

I use "Hi modulus graphite" picks that contain carbon fibre, I,ve been using them since the eighties and still have a stockpile of them as the factory burned down years ago.
Pickboy do a fair copy which is known as The reefer pick which I use for rehearsals but doesn,t quite match the originals. -
+1 for Rush.......Freewill
The first thing I thought of when seeing this topic! -

I can thoroughly recommend this man!!! I have known him and bought loads of stuff off him since the mid eighties and if you ever get a chance to walk round his warehouse take it !! It,s like alladins cave of guitars!!!
A nice bloke too!!! -
Hi Wizbat, no I don't think the fan was changed. Is your ampeg quite noisy too?
My amps are very quiet and the fans make hardly any noise at all, I am running extra rack mounted fans at the rear of my amps and they make more noise than anything else. -
Wht not get some paint pens, scribble all over it and write "zvex" at the bottom!
-
Do you know if the fan was changed as well? my svt2,s have mains voltage fans and yours may have too.
Of course some gear is 'badly designed' and lasts forever, which is no good for the manufacturer if they run out of customers.
Remember the company that made milkfloats -
Hi
If you are finding the signal in one particular amp quite noisey you might want to try a palmer line isolator PGA 03, you can get them from thomann and it is particularly designed to keep your signal free from any noise you may get when running multiple amps.
I have a pair of ampeg heads and when I started doing the effect channel in one amp and dry in the other routine I found that each amp on their own was nice and quiet but together one always hummed more than the other, the palmer cured it the minute I put it in the signal path of one of the amps (last thing before the input).
Hope this helps! -
I always use pledge, cleans the muck off and always leaves the fingerboard smelling nice.
also using brasso gets the frets looking all nice and shiney and if you really want to make the grain of the wood stand out (if you have a rosewoodneck) try colron liquid wax for dark woods.
While i,m on the subject try out some of the "Liberon" products like finishing oil to get your woods looking lovely, obviously this only works on unfinished wood.
I,ve got a shedfull of this stuff as I used to build guitars a lot a few years ago and stuff like the Liberon products are usually found in woodworking shops and are usually well kept secrets with woodworkers. -
guys - we're just testing the language filter, its triggered by profanity and replaces it with cockney rhyming slang. The sensitivity needed a little tweaking but we couldn't do it offline unfortunately.
I,m glad you cleared that up!!! I,ve lost enough of my mind already to worry about losing any more!!! -

He,s a lazy bugger! we have to carry him everywhere and he weighs a ton!!!! -
If I was you, and that would be over twenty years ago, I would stuff the job and play in a band all summer.
You have the rest of your life to go to work .
If your folks don,t object to you not bringing in any money for keep as you are activley working hard at playing,do it now as it gets harder to do as you get older.

It has a mute and you have to make sure it,s out of the loop when you don,t need it

If it,s any help I,ve been using audio technica stuff for a good few years and found the sound reproduction to be pretty close to what I get down a lead.

After hours online and reading through manuals, I've concluded that the fabled MIDI is some sort of cult philosophy or jah of mystic religion. I'm confident the MIDI will kill us all.
The RS 232 chip is gonna kill ya!!!! ( the chip wot duz MIDI) -
I think your main problem lies in the name on one of the boxes of the kit you have... digideswotnot used it, Headache usually follows, good luck with their customer support!
Truss rod?

If this helps , the more you turn the bolt clockwise the more the neck will bow backwards eg the middle part of the neck will appear higher than the ends!!!
The best advice I can give is to take it to someone who has done trussrod adjustments before as you can make things worse if you are stabbing in the dark with such things.
