Thanks for your replies guys. I guess what I’m asking is what you keep your pedals in or on… pedal boards, racks or any other ideas? To give more context I’ve just sold my helix and am going back to pedals. I’m used to keeping my helix at the back in front of my cabs, but as stages start to get bigger I was thinking about having tone shaping gear at the back and stuff I need to use down the front.

Hi. Has anyone experimented with placing their pedal board at the back of the stage and using only a tuner + expression pedal our front? I’m trying to think of ideas to keep my stage area clean as I don’t use many stomps once they are turned on. Only use expression to turn on/off overdrive so don’t need a large pedalboard out in front of me. The other idea I had was to start rack-mounting them but that seems like a whole different challenge. Any thoughts, ideas or tips?

Just changed my set up to move away from Helix, and planning to go back to a pedalboard. So I have just purchased a Bass Butler as a pre amp to my Matrix 1600. First try out I'm really happy with it. However I'm getting a lot of hiss on the hi gain guitar channel. So will add in a noise gate. Also considering a compressor pedal. I'm interested in hearing from anyone that is running a Bass Butler into a power amp. Are there any issues that you have come up against? What do I need to know Many thanks

Cleaned up the fretboard with wire wool, lighter fuel and lemon oil.

Oh right. No I have rubbed the rust off with an emery file and wiped over with Wd40.

All I’ve done so far is used some black t-cut to polish the area surrounding the pick ups. It’s worked will so I’ll polish the whole of the body soon.
-
Yeah definitely coming on ok so far

Got the pick ups cleaned and ready to fix with new screws

Really good actually. I’ve taken it off and it’s straight. I’ll post some more pics tomorrow. Got most of the rust of the pups now. Was fairly easy by using a scotchbrite pad and salt/lemon.

The bridge isn’t very good quality. The chrome is bubbling. I’ve cleaned it up ok but I’m considering changing the hardware to black.

Hey. I’ve taken ownership of a stinky old Hohner bass which is I am going to try and bring back to life. Should I try and clean up the pick ups, and if so what’s the best approach. Or do you guys think new pick ups would be a better option. But I don’t know how to swap them because they wiring runs through the body and I can’t see how to re-run the wiring. would love your thoughts
