Do you mind if I ask why you prefer the black one of the two?

The bass is in Lincolnshire on Ebay. The thread is still open as the seller (Glasgow) hasn't closed it yet.

Ok, thanks for the clarification, much appreciated. I must have dreamt the 34" scale.
Yes, I'm in discussion with the very friendly guy on eBay and as he's only up the road from me.
No worries dude. Hope things work out 😉👍

Hi. What's the weight of the bass?
If you look for it on E-Bay you'll see the weight. It's gone from this platform and now for sale in the Lincolnshire area.

P.Retro preamp mentioned here is the same as the John East P mentioned on the bay 😉

Different one with an East pre and is 34" scale and not in Glasgow
Thanks anyway
No worries mate but definitely the same bass. I was chatting with the e-bayer in November about it. Sold from Glasgow and now for sale on the bay in the Lincs area. MJJS here has spotted the identical grain from the photos. Contact the current owner on E-Bay,very friendly guy. John East P mentioned on both listings but no mention of scale length on E-Bay. All the best 😎👍

This exact bass has been on E-Bay for a while now,I've just viewed it again. I searched under ACG bass and it was at the top of the results list.

Also noticed the example in the video has the truss adjustment at the neck heel and doesn't have the bar retainer. Is your one a newer or older version do you know?

Hi Terry M.
I changed the pre amp to a John east one because I like the East pre amp and had one lying around and they just plug in so very easy.
I have the original one that will come with the bass and can be fitted back in .
The controls are the first bottom is Pan
top is volume
second is bottom bass top treble
third is mids also pull up for passive down active
hope that all makes sense.
Ok cool that makes sense. Sorry to harp on but for battery changes is the original battery box connected or is it now done under the actual preamp in the control cavity?

Also could you describe the function of each preamp knob?
-
Doesn't sound too shabby to my ears. Do you mind me asking what prompted you to install the John East circuit on your example and how much of a difference it made?

I used to have a Sadowsky metro with 18mm string spacing 👍
No worries mate. I stand corrected 😉

To my knowledge mate all Sadowsky 5 strings have 19mm bridge string spacing. Happy to be wrong though 👍

I did a trade deal with Tim I believe for a bass he was selling, and as I mainly play my lakland 5 didn't mind letting this go. However it is a great bass, any owner won't be disappointed. When I first got it the nut was shot, so I had a new nut fitted and it allows the bass to be setup perfectly
Got you buddy 👍

This used to be mine, which I got from bassbros. It's a lovely bass and I'm trying very hard to not be reunited with it 😬
Do you mind if I ask why you let it go? It just looks so awesome and I'm imagining it doesn't sound too shabby.

I saw this when BassBros had it on their website and was blown away by the looks. The only thing stopping me is I have the 24 fret active 5-string thing covered by my current stable. You speak well of it so is it a case of just wanting to try something else?

RBX765A model 👍

I have a 2006 one of these identical to this other than it's entirely stock. I'll never sell it. You don't like this anymore? I I can't imagine being without it

Sorry your plans didn't work out. It was me who traded this to Bass Direct at the start of the year after buying it used. The factory gig-bag was already missing. I like the idea of trying different basses but when all is said and done I'm just too in love with my Warwicks. For all those Stingray 5 fans, do yourself a favour and buy this bass to save hundreds on an American one (I've owned a few of those). The difference in price is no indicator to how good these "cheaper" Stingrays actually are in feel and more importantly, sound.

VERY nice gesture indeed. I too hope it goes to someone who'll actually use it 👍
