  1. !HELP!

Does anyone know where I can get a 10 hole scratchplate for my Fender 50’s Road Worn P Bass? MIM - having difficulty.

Would like a black one (black/white/black) 3 ply if possible! Also if I went for 3 ply would I need longer screws?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

  2. @knicknack - Cheers! apologies for having you hold my hand through this.. but theres plenty of options and thickness etc.

Which one did you purchase? i love the B/W/B but there seems to be a few different ones - i want EXACTLY what you got!

Was it this one? - https://www.wdmusic.co.uk/pickguards-c62/fender-basses-c111/mustang-bass-japanese-reissue-c294/wd-music-mustang-bass-re-issue-b-w-b-p8763

  3. WOW! they look so much better with the scratch plates switched!!!

Sorry to hi-jack this post but I thought it would be suitable to get involved here instead of starting a new one.

Thinking of doing a similar thing. Mine is CIJ 2006-2008. She's a bit beat (like that when I got her, but i like that worn look)

However, I want to get a black scratchplate but can only find these - https://www.axesrus.co.uk/ARUMUSTBASS-p/arumust.htm

Which if you read the spec it for American & Mexican bass's really so I am a bit miffed on how to get one that will fit correctly? Does anyone know where you can pick up one that will fit?

Also a slightly different note, I didn't realise it until looking online at other mustang's but it looks as if the tone/volume knobs have been changed from the original ones also.. maybe strat ones?

I would like to change these to these - https://www.andertons.co.uk/fender-replacement-stratocaster-knobs-(set-of-3)-aged-white-0991369000?LGWCODE=0991369000;56375;6335&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrpeRg_HW4QIVqLDtCh2SBQ17EAQYASABEgL6dPD_BwE

Does anyone know if they will fit - I am probably answering my own question here considering it looks like they are already on it.

Thanks for any help with this guys and as I said sorry to the Original Poster for hi-jacking! :)

Hey Lloyd, welcome to BassChat. Enjoyed reading your introduction and I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.

I'm sure you'll be able to find a jazz bass in the marketplace cheap enough but still quality enough to not need another anytime soon.... Keeping the band and the old wallet strings at ease 😉👌🏻

    Hope to see you around

    Hey Big Smoke!

i'll have a dig on the marketplace section and see what i can find!

    Cheers!

  5. Hey Guys,

I'm Lloyd, i am 28 and from Pompey. I have been playing on and off since I was 13.

I have a Fender MIM 50's road-worn precision in Sunburst + recently picked up a crafted in Japan Fender Mustang so I can twinkle around with a shorter scale.

I usually play more indie rock kinda stuff but recently have gotten into playing more motown and classics to improve my playing and way of thinking.

I am currently looking around for a Jazz bass but nothing special so if anyone has some suggestions that won't break the bank please let us know (also doesn't have to be Fender either) - I have recently been looking at SX Jazz Bass's (vintage series) as have read a lot that they are a bit better than a Squier, so wondering if people had any more info on those! (i am a big fan of the band Khruangbin and Laura Lee uses one which had me intrigued)

    Cheers guys 😁
