  1. Bird of Prey - Uriah Heep
  2. In the 70's and early 80's I used to be a metalhead, period. In the second half of the 80's I added Punk Rock to my preferences. I still very much appreciate both genres, but Blues (Rock) also floats my boat. In 2010 I started playing bass, which made me (somewhat) appreciate even more genres.
  3. Mr. So And So - The Lillingtons
  4. I don't think songs are sped up. I'm mostly playing punk rock songs, finger style as well as picking. This requires very fast playing. During live shows songs are often played even faster than on the CD. It's just a matter of getting used to it.
  5. Some Kind of Hate - Misfits
  6. I want to inspect and play any instrument before buying, period. When I bought my G&L bass, I had them take four basses from stock, some with basswood, some with swamp ash body. I then compared feel, balance and tone, using my trusted pedal and headphones.
  7. When playing finger style, my thumb is planted between the strings lower than the one strummed. When picking, the thumb of the fretting hand often assists in muting the lowest string.

  18. To Hell and Back Again - Saxon
  19. I mostly play finger style, planting the thumb between the strings below the one strummed. When picking, the lefthand thumb may assist in muting the lowest string.
