Is your series sound activated by pulling a pot? Is it really a series option, or bypassing the bridge capacitor?

Do not use a foam that is filled with carbon, if you put it in contact with the bare wires.

Swell pedal... try a grey Harley Benton noise gate.

I have had the chance to try a Buzz once in a shop. I tried it dry without an amp. A strange guy (g-word player) from the other room came to the door and said with a smile in his face: "This has to be a fretless Pedulla!"
Nothing more to add.

YES!
How is it so that here I have @stewblack telling about my (questionable) successes...
...and all of my (big) mistakes.
If I sold my pedals, or would have saved all the money that went to these toys, which dream bass would I have bought years ago? And lost the fun finding all those nice noises that were completely useless in the band context?
That's life
(That's life)
That's what all the people say
You're riding high in April, shot down in May
But I know I'm gonna change that tune
When I'm back on top, back on top in June
I said that's life
(That's life)
And as funny as it may seem
Some people get their kicks
Stomping on a dream

This is something that I believe is possible only here. Extraordinary.
Fine video, too. Well done.

You can check Vigier's pages (serials). A 5-string Passion or Arpege is very high on my list, so is a Delta metal fretless. I have two series II Passions.

Do not grab the neck. Put your thumb behind it and then your fingers can fly all over the fretboard. Take a look at Tom Kennedy:

Someone here knew that the pickups were made by Kent Armstrong, I think. Who did the electronics?
(Surine resembles KS a bit.)

Have to admit, I thought this would belong to the bad jokes. MK and a J, no way. A Jaydee maybe, but nothing less.

Then Ovnilab is your next website.

How about new SS RW strings?

A (fretless) bass in short:
A lovely instrument that has perfect setup.
10 % inspiration.
90 % perspiration.

I have two Passion series II basses; I think I should join the queue of those wanting this beauty.

GHS has also grey silks.

Spinning toothbrush? Try the tricks like ultrasound washing and dishwasher. Cooking in water is so old fashioned.

I was in far east in a business trip. There was this big warning attached to a unit in my hotel room. A hair dryer most likely contains some solder inside it. Oh dear.

GHS suggests using their long scale plus strings in 35" scale basses as well as if you use a string through body bridge.

Michael V. Pedulla, please.
Modulus has up to 21.5 mm string spacing option in their 5W necks. Congrats, that's one cracking bass.

IE Divaricator is a pedal sized and functional X-over. It also has a (meaningless?) full range adjustment, which I keep at zero. Very fun addition to many pedals, like OD/fuzz/dist, chorus/flange, and so on. Recommended.
I built the Omnilooper, too. Some work, but very doable. I also recommend the box from him.

The question of playing is probably the first: do you want to play?
Our band plays lots of songs that are not on my home play list. But when the crowd is jumping and singing along and having a good time, I know we've managed to talk with the language of music to the people.
Sometimes there are parts of the language, i.e. the songs, that may be less interesting, but it is the complete offering than a single sentence that matters. I often forget songs (not notes) while I play, because the feel means so much. Music is more than a single song.

But that's good!
You need new baseplates to replace that one copper coloured one. The coils have already four wires, the set just needs some tinkering.
If you want 3D-printed mic cases, contact someone local who can measure the coils and print parts - which do not have to be black...

This is possible, but there are lots of different constructions. Some are practically impossible, some are nearly doable. Pictures are always helpful.

Bien, 16.5 mm.
No, I do not have to buy this one. Thank you. I am actually happy, that Patrice chose tight spacings with his 5s. I do not have to hunt after one, and I couldn't modify a 6 to a wide 5.
