I can't work out if this is an example of your church playing lots of old songs, or lots of new ones. . . .
As for masked singing, I too got the chance to sing - a previous bassist wanted the fun of playing with the previous worship leader for half of the set, so I was part of the pew-ballast for the day! Great fun.
I suppose I should have said ‘songs....from the 80s that everyone knows - rather than new-to-us songs she’s brought with her’. (No reflection on her, by the way, she is brilliant)

All that 'relic' on the front and no buckle rash? Pull the other one.
My thoughts exactly.
and the amount of ‘relic’ just makes it look like a very badly treated instrument - eg all the damage around the headstock - that’s not ‘wear’.

Our new (employed) worship leader has received a couple of comments from older folks that she doesn’t include enough older songs and hymns. She’s on holiday this week, so 3 out of the 4 songs for Sunday morning are from the 80s...
On another subject, I was in the congregation yesterday, and it was really good to be able to sing again, albeit wearing a mask.

Tale against myself - we use MEI mixers with wired in-ears, and a couple of weeks ago when I was in the band, all had been fine throughout the service, until the last song, after the sermon, when I found I couldn’t hear myself. I could hear the rest of the band reasonably well. (We are on a ‘proper’ stage, with PA and bass sub out front)
To cut a long story short, I’d of course omitted to plug my ear buds into the MEI.
But the embarrassing part was that the livestream guy had noticed , and kept the camera on me for lengthy periods, meaning that everyone watching saw my antics on the YouTube stream - pulling buds out, putting them back in between verses, adjusting volumes, etc, trying to get some sound, before I realised what I’d (not) done...
I suppose the upside though, was that for once, a bass player was in camera shot!! (Even if he did look daft)👍👍

I have Basschat’s ‘unread posts’ as one of my favourites in Google, and prior to the update, I was taken straight to the ‘orange line’ on each thread. Since the update though, it seems quite random. Occasionally, if there have been a lot of posts, it’s not even on the right page. Is there any way I can adjust this, please?
Thanks in advance

Re the 80s songs - we closed yesterday’s morning service with a really upbeat celebration song by John Gibson - including one chorus ‘drums only’ - real nostalgia stuff. Almost dancing in the aisles...🤫
