  1. Agreed. We're also not what you would consider main stream. However, we have our niche and there's plenty of venues for us to play. We know the venues where you know the crowd wants covers like " Don't Stop Believing " . It's better for us to turn those gigs down. Daryl
  2. Agreed. Over here when a venue changes hands it's undoubtedly the " kiss of death " for the bands. Daryl
  3. That's a very unfortunate scenario. Here's another issue. The band arrives with members acting like "diva rock stars" and making unnecessary demands on the venue. It seems like such an easy proposition. We work for them ,they don't work for us. Daryl
  4. Agreed. Relieing on call back business might work for a while and with some venues. However not a good practice for bands that want to make money. Daryl
  5. Too loud is an issue and the venue might not tell you that was the reason a band wasn't asked back . I say, in the case a band is playing a restaurant or anywhere you are providing background music, keep the volume low. And if your in a loud band, maybe not accept the background music gigs. Daryl
  6. I think sometimes it's a matter of poor follow up from whoever does the bands bookings. I always felt that if the owners or whoever books the bands for the venue are present during the gig you should attempt to book another date with them at the end of the gig. I don't think you wait for the venue to contact you. Daryl
  7. Has your band ever played a really nice venue, with a good crowd, lot's of dancing and the pub cash registers busy but your band was never asked back. There could be a lot of reasons. Share your thoughts or stories. Daryl
  8. How much band experience does this guitarist have? Daryl
  9. The room looks big and it looks like you had a good size crowd. I get the hollow wooden stage issue. My issue has always been playing on concrete stages. Very cold and medicinal. Daryl
  10. Cool and very nice looking room. Daryl
  11. I've got nothing until next weekend. Not my favorite gig. However, we get an air conditioned trailer. Maple Road August 9th, 2025 Major Goolsby's Stage Wisconsin State Fair West Allis WI. Daryl
  12. Hi Dave, First time I saw a Ric was when The Beatles released the " Hello Good Bye" video to our Sunday Night Ed Sullivan Show. First time I saw Paul without the Violin Hofner. I thought it looked super cool. Daryl
  13. Dave, I would like a Ric for the sole reason of the iconic look. I've heard they're not easy to maintain. Daryl
  14. Video shoot, I'm in. I think a would be good at it. Lol Daryl
  15. I think they like telling me " No ". Daryl
  16. We're on the same page. I think that would be a great idea. And it wouldn't have to be expensive. Unfortunately I doubt I could sell the idea. Daryl
  17. It's hard to find gig video and pics of us ( Maple Road). I don't think anyone in the band except me has any interest in pics or video. It's too bad because we have a theatre gig coming where you could shoot some nice footage. Daryl
  18. Sounds great. Looks like a fun gig. Daryl
  19. I really needed this one. Great gig. We were clicking on all 6 cylinders from the first couple bars of the first song. We played from 3-5 with a 20 minute break. Stage volume was great. The crowd loved us. Daryl
  20. I don't know much about Hartke amps. I've seen them back lined. I knew Larry before he started that company . Daryl Daryl
  21. I get it Stub. I've got a video from our gig from Saturday night. Video and audio are poor. It's not worth sharing Daryl
  22. Full Maple Road gig at Bastille Days this Saturday. We'll play from 3:00-5:00. No, we won't have the crowd in the pic. Lol Daryl
  23. To this day many times when I think I've lost my signal I find out my tuner was engaged. Lol 120 is a good number. Daryl
  24. We closed the Home Grown Music Festival in Regner Park tonight. We started at 8:30 and played an hour set. If any vids appear I'll post them. Daryl
