  1. Not possible to have too much bass. All you bass are belong to us!
  2. My second band - Doppelganger - are after a replacement bass player. Details as follows: We're a 5 piece rock covers band, and we rehearse in central Manchester, once a week (Tuesday nights). Line up is myself on vocals, 2 x guitarists, drums & bass (once recruited). The band has been together for a few months now, but we recently lost our bass player due to family commitments. We are all experienced musicians in our late 30's (ish) and have all played in bands for many years. We take a professional attitude to what we do, and are looking for the same in any new member that we recruit. The band has its own PA & lighting rig, so we're fully self sufficient. We're currently in the process of booking gigs for 2009, and the plan is to take the band out a couple of times a month. We all have families & other bands to run, so this suits us well. All gigs will be in the north west area. Just one gig booked for this year at present (29th November in New Mills), because everyone has a full diary until the end of the year. Everyone is expected to take some responsibility for booking gigs. Work will be regular if we can keep the gig list as busy as we can. We play music mainly (but not exclusively) from the 80's / 90's - not always the usual suspects, but 'stadium' rock. A few traks are listed below. Thunder - Castles in the sand Sabbath - Heaven & Hell Rainbow - Long live rock n roll Gary Moore - Run for cover Thin Lizzy - Cold sweat Motley Crue - Girls girls girls Airbourne - Stand up for rock n roll Dio - Holy diver Saxon - 747 Van Halen - Ain't talkin' 'bout love Anyone interested? Drop me a line!
  3. The neck on the GL Jazz Bass is superb. Very thin though, and watch out for that laquer - it's amazingly soft & easy to damage, as I know to my cost... Good luck with the project mate.
  4. Hi mate, If you're still after a band, drop me a line. In addition to playing bass in a band, I also handle lead vocals in another, and we're after a new bass player. Classic rock covers, Manchester based, late 30's (ish). Maybe we can meet up for a jam???

    Hello

Hello. I am Jazzbasser, and I've been playing bass for donkeys' years. Too many to mention. As you may have guessed, my weapon of choice is the Fender Jazz Bass. I own no other kind. Current set up is Fender Geddy Lee signature Jazz Bass & Fender Standard Mexican Jazz Bass with Badass II bridge, both into Trace Elliot AH150 (old) head, feeding Ashdown 2x10 cab & custom 1x15 cab. Occasional usage of Ashdown Electric Blue 180 head. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.
