  1. Thanks for the inputs guys. I play mainly in jazz big band/combo/sextet/quartet etc. and not heavy metal or rock. So I don't need to compete with the drums! LOL!

I once played in a pub with a sextet and a vocal using a Line 6 Lowdown Studio 110 without P.A. and could be heard right at the back. So I guess it's all relevant in what type of music one is playing. Last week I played with another band in the Herne Hill Festival using a Markbass CMD 101 60W combo and it sounded great. As I have never tried or seen the TE Elf combo before, I am keen to hear anyone who has done so or owned one. Thanks Trueno for the first-hand user inputs. 👍

Anyone have any experience of http://thedoublebassroom.com/ ?

I have a friend fancying something there and she just wants to make sure he is ok.

I just bought a bass from Ben last weekend. Spent over 2 hours there and tried out 11 basses. Ben is a very nice fellow and knows his stuff well. And yes, do bring a tuner as you need to bring it to standard tuning.

  3. An accurate way to measure the string spacing is to put a measuring tape in between the centre of the two holes at the bridge as the thickness of the B string to E or D to G could affect the spacing drastically. I like your bass as I am a sucker for semi hollow basses but anything over 18mm is really a deal killer! 😅
