1.
I suggest learning how to write simple notation before you trying giving lessons tbh. imo of course!
o........k........ Lmao.
2. Slap precision excercise #2 These excercises are going really well, so here is another: http://mrlamius.blogspot.com/2009/09/slap-...exercise-2.html
3.
Why don't you put notation in the lessons instead of just TAB? Because as it is the exercises have no rhythmic information.
Yea, Doddy you are right. I'm a crap tabber, but even worse at writing notation... If you want to have a crack at it, it'd be much appreciated!
4. Aimed more at intermediate players, this one! Tab is also here... http://mrlamius.blogspot.com/2009/09/finge...exercise-1.html Hope it helps!
5. Thanks, guys! And hello, Amy! Hope all is well.... These lessons will be weekly. Every Friday (hopefully)
6. A blog? They can if you let them breathe, and give them a few years to mature. It's hard work, and you have to stick with it. But even then, many people earn nothing. I don't. I have quite a big following on youtube as well. Luckily, i'm a youtube partner, so I make a bit (very little) from that. If you take a look, you'll see there are a LOT of how-to sites out there. You gotta work hard to register.
7. Just started my series of slap precision "lessons". The "how to" part of the lesson, and tab's of the lesson are here, as well as the vid. Clicky Hope it helps.

10. Please don't hit your bass with random bits of metal... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsgLBhKiDTk
11. Bass only song of mine. Pictures are of friends last week making a bonfire in the woods, whilst planning our next move. Hope you enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7Lo-eA3Zi4
12. Ha, thats right, Geek! Just out of interest, how are you finding them to jam along to? I've got some great responses on youtube.
13.
Might be worth adding links to the Groove Library
Good idea, Walman! Thankyou, my friend.
14. Hiya, guys! I have put down a few guitar/drum tracks with the idea of giving people the opportunity to practice to something that isn't a metronome, and to also practice their ear/sight work. I have purposfully not told the notes (after the first) I am playing as I thought it would be more beneficial for people to try and put something down by ear and sight. If they can get this technique down, it will be an in-valuable tool for their overall musicianship. Don't forget that there is no right and wrong as to what you write alongside these tracks, only what is pleasing to you. If you are feeling brave, respond to my video on youtube with your own bassline. We have a few great lines up there already from people, and i'll be interested to see more, if anyone want's to get involved. I'll be adding to this series quite a bit... Have fun. Number one: A rocky one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BJa8ACTa54 Number two: A funky one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsV7js10uLg Number three: A chilled one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGQJkMzX5S4
15. Have you checked my "cool funk lines to play" on my youtube channel yet, AM?
16.
+1 they aint that dear, new ones havnt suffered tuned tension for a long period either so feel good too. whats the point of boiling strings, unless mum and dad are paying for the leccy or gas to do it ! I tried this 25 years ago, shagged strings are shagged strings.
Mine are fine. Played on a show on Sky T.V with them as well. Not everyone can afford strings. Especially people starting out etc. I can afford them, but bet with a friend (who said they would snap) that I wouldn't change them until the snap. Not preferable, but still sound fine.
17. Hey man! I decided to see if the myth works a few months back, to see if boiling bass strings works or not. You may find the vid interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=st9i_0SVzHQ After a few days, they became slightly jaded. This is with no meths, etc. I was told by people that they WOULD snap quickly, after boiling. I did that video in October, and I play daily, gig and practice and the strings still haven't snapped... They are still at a standard that I feel is playable.
18. That was brilliant! Really down to earth and truthful insight.... "Does humour belong in music?" Is a must for anyone. Especially the live performances.
19.
Who says Sith Lords can't shred.
Lol, it was all un-intentional! I got the urge to play something heavy, put it down, and then played with some effects, and before I know it, I look like that Emperor bloke... I'm not complaining, though. I'm sure I have a electricity/lightening effect in this software somewhere...
20. Actually, scrap that. For some reason it's only playing parts of the songs now. Deezer used to play all. Heartbroken. I loved that playlist...
21. Check this out: http://mrlamius.blogspot.com/2008/10/music...ation-funk.html
22.
liked it what distortion were you using?
Hey man. Loving your avatar! They don't make em like that anymore... That was a broken Boss distortion that was given to me by a guitarist because it was broken. For some reason, it sounded great on the bass for a few days until one day, it coughed, spluttered, swore a bit and then promptly died. I have since found the identical sound on my Korg Pandora, though. It's called "Fire", and is a guitar effect...
23. Lol, I know... Everytime I make a new video, and especially tutorial video, he makes one with the same or similar titles, tags and content...
24.
Totally. Been kicking myself ever since that Primus Brixton show 97-98 time.
That's the one I was at. And then the Shepherd Bush Empire the year after! (98)
25. Yea, it's great...! Wish he would come back over these parts again. Was lucky enough to see Primus twice, but i'd like to see him with his newer bands as well...
