3. Good News!! Christopher woods must have been contacted by someone in the UK for a custom build! When the potential customer carried out a few internet searches he came across this Thread on Basschat? This link was sent to him and within 24hrs he has replied to the customers Email, sending a copy to me. He has made it quite clear to him that i am not being ripped off and that things have taken a little longer to complete but my name is on the list. I am not the type to complain or kick up a fuss, Just wanted some sort of reply to say things were ok and that things were taking a while to complete. Having watched my name on the list for months & months i hope Mr Woods can understand my need to post this thread. Mr Woods has now updated his Blog and my name seems to be moving in the right direction? I still haven't had a personal reply in response to any of my concers other than the Email copied from that customer quoting "BIG.J" (Justin) has not been ripped off! Mr Woods must be snowed under with work and i understand responding to Emails takes up valueble hands on time. Many thanks to Basschat and its members for your support so far, Justin.
 4. Well, Still no replies to call / Emails!!!
Has anyone sent Mr Woods a link to this post on Basschat? he may choose to do something if he knows that his potential UK client base is rapidly going away. Remember the power of Basschat and the case of the scammer! Scammer 0 Basschat 1
Never thought of this!

 13.
Mate of mine is thinking of selling his Peavey Combo - its a 210TX I think. Probably made early/mid 90's in the USA-solid build. 200 watts into 2x10 speakers, 300 watts if you add another 4 ohm cab. Got a graphic, compressor etc. Loud as hell and in excellent nick too. Reckon he'll want just under £200 for it. Drop me a PM if you're interested and will chase it up.
Like this one, Its a cracker But very heavy, I use all Early Peavey stuff! Had it up for sale a few weeks back pud decided to use it again, Just got an Ex OMD flightcase for it (What a beast!) Cheers Justin!

 16. Thanks for all your comments! I picked C.Woods to do the job as nobody i had previously contacted both in the UK and US would build me a Headless Neck to the required specs! Variable LED's, Alembic styled oval inlays Etc Etc! He updates his Blog every so often making a note to make these changes within a specified time but ends up being weeks!! The neck will house The S2 Status string retainer, This along with the hardware was sent to London to be Gold Plated along with the control knobs / Switches etc! Looks great but they have been sitting in Tissue for months along with everything else! I sent another Email requesting an update yesterday, Another Basschatter has also very kindely Email'd him for a quote? Lets see what happens!!!
 17. Here are a few of the Emails Sent / Recieved! = Re: Bass Neck (Progress!)‏ From: Christopher Woods ([email protected]) Sent: 04 January 2009 15:27:58 To: justin ryan Justin, Hello, sorry for the confusion on my orders page. I recently updated all of the orders so you should see your name on there correctly now. But no I have not shipped your neck yet. i'll probably be finished with it around Wednesday. And I think that there is a balance due before I ship?? I'll look that up and make sure that we are all squared away when the order is complete. Thanks, -- Christopher Woods Guitar [email protected] http://www.christopherwoods.com On Dec 20, 2008, at 1:19 PM, justin ryan wrote: Hi Chris, I know you are very busy and i have been watching out for my neck order from your current order list and the mobile page! I havn't seen anything other than an order for (Ryan H) which was showing on the old site! If (Ryan H) was my Headless Neck order then great! I guess it was shipped and will take a while to arrive in the UK. The neck blank was on CNC around 10th November! I would apriciate it if you could confirm weather or not (Ryan H) was infact my order as my name does not apear to be in the current order lists? 18.
fair point Chris....missed that bit. As a fellow (he said in inverted commas) 'luthier' I find it ridiculous that he hasn't honored this work. Maybe a tactic that could be used is for someone to contact him using a quote for a build as a cover and then bringing up this sorry story with him.....just a thought.
Cheers Paul, I tried to call him again tonight but once again (Answering machine) I have a few Email Address's i use with the bands so looks like thats the next plan!
 19.
I've found that, despite a strong customer service ethos in corporate USA, quite the opposite seems to exist in the smaller businesses. On more than few occasions I've been pretty much told to f**k off by very aggressive and reactive dealers, seemingly without reference to the fact that I've paid them money and they owe me the item or service. I generally now won't deal with individuals or small business over there. There are some great ones but there are some shocking ones also, and ebay feedback doesn't seem to discriminate between the two. As to whether you've been ripped off, I hope you haven't and that it's simply the case that the guy, like those I've mentioned above,m is a c**k who will happily take your money but who works on the basis of looking after the guy down the road who can come round and make life difficult ahead of looking after a customer in the UK who can't. If you have been ripped off, and if it's anything like my experience, you probably have virtually no legal recourse (and he probably knows that), so I'd start to prepare yourself for the possibility. Clearly Paypal will be no help given the time that's passed, but at at least it will only cost you just under 20% what mine cost Good luck Chris
Cheers Chris, That just about sums it up!
 20.
I'm sorry to hear that you got screwed mate- that is absolutely outrageous! Vinyl is just 10 minute's walk from my flat in Aigburth, and I've played it a couple of times in the past myself (at open mic nights mind you, so no money involved). A good double-bassist friend of mine plays a jazz gig there every Monday afternoon IIRC- next time I see him I'll ask what the deal is for him and the guys...
That would be great! Thanks, It realy was a one off as i also don't like ticket sales or % etc. Just thought its a night out and the money was a bonus! Lesson Learned!!!
 21. Well, Still no reply! I will try again tonight.
 22.
I dont understand how people expect musicians to give up a night, lift gear around, and arrange everything for virtually no money. Im in the same boat.
The worst thing is it was a Basement bar, Should have seen us trying to carry my amp & Flightcase down the old steep staircase!
