Hmmm, I wouldnt say that being at the wrong end of a sniper rifle sight was particularly safe, given that this would be normal conditions of use for those lasers!!!

Funny, I`ve seen Francis Dunnery live about a dozen times now (and will see him again a couple more later this year once he pulls his finger out and gets the gig dates arranged for the Welcome to the Wild Country tour - only 16 years after the album was released ), but have only seen IB live once, and even then that was at a Francis Dunnery Fan convention.

Just a quick question regarding finishes on woods.

If I had 4 pieces of wood, (say Alder, Maple, Ash and Basswood), which of the woods would darken the most once any neutral varnish/oil was applied to them?

Hmmm, wouldnt have thought that WD-40 was an ideal thing to use, full stop.

1) It is a water displacement product so it`s going to dry out any unsealed wood if used in the long term.

2) Main ingredients, from the material safety data sheet, are:
50%: Stoddard solvent (mineral spirits, also commonly known as dry cleaning solvent)
25%: Liquefied petroleum gas (presumably as a propellant, carbon dioxide is used now to reduce considerable flammability)
15+%: Mineral oil (light lubricating oil)
10-%: Inert ingredients

Wouldnt like to think what any solvent would do to varnished finishes etc.

personally speaking, not too fussed about having a profanity filter; I generally try not to swear on these forums as I know that they are read by a wide cross section in both age and moral/ethical viewpoint (err, once again sorry about that rude .mp3 the other day; not posted that one in a long while and honestly forgot to flag up NSFW (Not Safe For Work) or Not for Under 18`s.), but I also know that there ARE LOADS of ways around these things, should I feel the urge to use certain words to their full power.

I`m sure that if you trawl other UK music forums you`ll find other disgruntled parcelfarce customers who would be prepared to give assistance in complaining.

Of course, what would be ideal is if a load of parcels were sent (marked "FRAGILE/DO NOT DROP/THIS WAY UP" etc ) that contained some sort of device that could measure whether they were dropped (and how often), but the BBC can do that.

As a matter of routine a company I used to work for would never sign for anything that wasnt inspected upon recept.

Lots of fun when you have a couple of hundred glass test tubes to inspect.


it`s funny, but I only ever either sign for things AFTER I have checked their condition, or sign for things as uninspected upon receipt these days (even at home!!).

Yeah, it pisses the delivery guy off, but it covers my back in case of damage.

WOW, real pretty (apart from the inlay, but that`s a personal thing). I like the way you have done the access to the rear control cavity.

Hmmm, I thought that`s what the sponsor forums were for; they help pay towards the running of the site (domain registration, software upgrades etc) and in return they get their own little corner in which to advertise & brag/converse about their own product.

I think it should be left like that.
