what concerns me is that this thread is not a joke...

My wife doesn't question my basses. I don't question her surfboards.

    It's called being adult, surely?

Totally. I don't question the amount of yarn/floof/wool she has in the house, nor the fact that she is currently lusting after ANOTHER spinning wheel, and she doesn't question my GAS (nor the fact I am something of a tackle tart when it comes to my angling gear!!).

As long as we both have enough to survive on, that is OK.

  2. Think that the only good things on this weeks show (IMNSHO) were OMD and KT Tunstall.

Actually really liked John Grant from last weeks show - so much so that I bought the album.

Apart from that, the BBC needs shows like ...Later, to save us from the banality that is the top 40!!!

  3. Sadly, I am having to sell my Carvin BK4a kit.

Have had it for about 5 years and it is still in bits.

Neck has been sanded and oiled.

Body has been sanded. I did try to dye the body but it went sort of pear shaped and as such the body is a sort of mucky grey. As such, think it will need spraying to finish.

It is complete, and in it's original box (instructions too).

    Am asking £300.

    pref pick up from Nottingham.

    Quick sale needed

    Thanks

  4. ha, started off playing Double Bass at school - was always a bugger getting it on the school bus to take it home for the holidays tho' (and the mile walk from the bus stop to the house was even worse!!).

There again, was only taking bass lessons cos the (female) teacher was cute (oh, and I had to get grade V so I didnt have to do the practical bit for 'O' level music).

It's the girl with the pink guitar that kills it, the guy with the strat was doing OK, the lack of a drummer is never easy when you are young.

Anyway the greatest cover is here

Then we get to the practical stuff - Oh dear!!!

grouping of music - not too brilliant - was convinced that the 4 groupings were Jazz, Classical, Reggae and Rock!! At least I got all of the rock ones right!!

Match the Beat - did OK on most of those (as has been said previously, how "off the beat" could things be but still be on the beat??

Tap to the Beat - Did well on this, mostly (I say mostly as I sort of got bored after a couple, improvised, and put in some runs and fills where I felt the music needed them!!)

Melody Memory - 8 out of 12 - not bad!!

Nah, Mani had just forgotten his Harmonica!! :) :)

Thought Ceelo Green was good, and was nice to hear Morrisey again, even if he was a little low in the mix.
