Hey, just read the last answers after months, I forgot about this post.
I never really managed to get the intonation right that time, but I now got new strings (D'Addario Balanced Tension 50-120) and did a full set up, including intonation, and it seems to be fine. I think I know thought what was wrong then. I believe all my saddles were way too close to the neck (almost fully extended). I pull them all back toward more or less half of their length and work from there, and they were almost all perfect from the beginning.
is it possible that fully extended saddles (towards the neck) can cause this problem, maybe by moving too much when vibrating?

I used to hate compressors, but now that I play mostly rock music i have it on all the time, both to record and during gigs.

Funny, it is exactly the opposite for me with Muse
I like their first album, it sounded new and different, now they seem to do the same identical stuff over and over.

Are you replying to an ad and ready to jump into a situation/band with their ideas and contexts, whatever they are, or are you looking for your exact type of band?
If it's the latter, you should probably post your own ad instead of looking for existing ones.

I think it is just a question of practicing and practicing, trying slightly different angles for you hand and fingers.
Alternatively you can cheat and use a compressor to even your volume and attack

More than that, it looks like you have not practice enough using it. When I started playing the bass it took me about a year to get used to use the pinky, and sometimes it still hurts if I don't play for a while, but I reckon using all your hand is fundamental to play most music on bass.

Impossible to decide, yes. But this one always comes to my mind.
