a quick question for those that have had replacement stands from Hercules, once you had sent over the photos/serial number/address etc, did you receive any more emails from them or did a stand just arrive in the post?

I sent the info on the 28th and have so far not heard a peep back (been checking spam folders as well just in case).

i'm not totally bothered as i have used a bolt to fix the broken stand at the right height and will happily just use it in the house but a shiny new one would be nice to have another instrument out to play whilst on furlough.

    Matt

After they replied to my initial email and I sent photos and serial number, I just got a new stand in the post 2-3 days after...

  2. Nothing I would need as I barely play my only bass, and nothing I would have space for as I live in a small flat, but if I could buy today 3 basses they would be:

    -Schecter Model T session - 5 strings

    -A Rickenbacker

-A cool fretless for funsy, maybe a Rob Allen

For me it has to be my Fender P. Not only are these MIA’s very rare, I found this on line in on a small dealer’s website for £700 posted, inc nice gig bag.

or, the two free Sire gig bags i get sent to me when i asked about buying one here in the UK. Direct from the top man at Sire.

That is the most beautiful Precision I have ever seen.

Maybe only after my MIM Fiesta Red P. 👹

Vox looks fragile, EHX looks substantial but read its bland, caline?

    Chime in please...

the Vox feels cheap and plasticky, but I never had a problem with it, and it fell a few times.

For £30 I think you can give it a go, worst thing you can chuck it in your gigbag and it can always be handy if you want to play when you are out.

  5. I love these stories! Keep them coming!

Personally, I received two presents from two different family friends when I was in Italy because they knew I was a musician. One turned out to be an amazing Juno 60 synthetizer which was great fun.

The other was a crazy looking Fiesta Red bass from one of those Italian manufacturers popular in the 60s. I can't remember exactly the shape now but I think it was one of those irregular pentagon sort of shape, and it had flatwound strings probably still on from the 60s or 70s.

Unfortunately both benefactors asked for the instruments back after a few years 😪

I have the vox headphone amp, I honestly think it's crap and use my zoom, I can't get the volume I'm looking for with the vox.

Volume? What bass do you use? Mine has plenty of volume with a passive MIM Precision

Before I pull the trigger, has anyone got any experience with these? And are there any other options I'm over looking? Don't want to pay more than £50 really.

    Cheers.

I don't have an amp at home so I only practice using the Vox headphones amp. I love it: it is small, sound is decent and it does sound just like the bass I plug it into. Batteries last ages and it is great having the possibility to also plug in a aux to play over any music.

I love it so much I also bought one for guitar.

To expand on that (it was getting late...)

I had a stand develop the well known "sticky handle" syndrome. Contacted them - not interested.  It didn't really bother me at the time, as that particular stand hardly ever gets moved/touched/adjusted.

A couple of weeks ago, I had cause to move it. Picked it up, and the handle/clamp mechanism fell apart.

I have a couple of other Hercules stands which are fine, but I shan't be buying any more.

    Ah, that's not good.

Maybe try again, suggesting you read their products have a life warranty? It took a while for them to reply, a couple of weeks, and it was I believe their American main support, bur once they replied they were super quick.

  9. Hi all, not sure if this is allowed, but I just wanted to send a shout out to Hercules Stands.

In October 2017 I bought one of their wall guitar hanger on Amazon, the ones with the wooden block. A few weeks ago I realised that a metal part snapped, so that the whole hanger was all wobbly and unstable. I emailed their customer service, they asked for a photo and my details, and in just 3 days I got a brand new hanger. Great great customer service, I know which brand I will choose when I need a stand or hanger in the future

  10. Finally is time for me too to give this a go.Working from home I was given a MacBook Air by my employer, so recently I have been having a bit of fun with GarageBand. Recorded with my Precision Classic 50 MIM and Squier John 5 Telecaster. All the rest is the standard GarageBand stuff - I did not have a chance yet to look into plugins and what not.

I am new to recording so be nice :)

  11. Geezer, what a player. I strongly recomend both Ozzy and Black Sabbath (Symptom of the universe) biographies, highly entertaining.

Also, tomorrow night there's an event in London to celebrate the anniversary of this album, it should be good fun with bands playing, but I could not find any friend to go with, and unfortunately my girlfriend is not really into Sabbath. If any of you from London were interested, let's meet there for a toast to Geezer and the boys from B'ham. 🖤
