  1. sandy beaches for miles and miles, gorgeous girls in teensy shorts everywhere, no snow, yeah last week's 47.7 degrees Celcius day was a bit hot......

ALL spiders die when sprayed with insect spray and or hit with a thong (flip flop), crocs are in certain spots in certain rivers, don't go there, sharks don't swim in swimming pools....as for snakes, yeah don't go into the bush.

  2. I reckon if there was any footage they would've released it. May and Taylor would not have missed an opportunity to make more money.

On a side note, how come most of the best basslines of theirs are in the songs I don't particularly like?

John was a very under-rated bassist. he has a great melodic style.

  3. sorry mate, I musta been in a bad mood.

    I apologise.

but you really need a better drummer. I know. For years I had a crap drummer and it was only when I joined another band that I realised how bad he was :)

Yes, for sure! Any compression takes data away from the original. The size of MP3-files often is less than 1/5th of the original file. This can be compared with images. A jpg-file, derived from an uncompressed bitmap or bmp-file, is less detailed.

    lol I was being sarcastic

[Pedantry] Actually 3Gb, for obscure technical reasons.[/Pedantry]

actually about 3.4Gb, hehe or is it 2.4? ahhhgh

all I know is some people get 16Gb RAM but have 32 bit Windoze lol....and I would've been one of them but I couldn't afford more RAM hehe

I think those are part of their usb range it sends all the signals through to a DAW as a singke track even if all the channels are being used

cheers for that, I tried to look for a usb cord in the pic but my eyesight is not too good from afar lol

  7. All of them, the site must have converrted to Australian dollars, which makes them the same price as MIM Fenders, crazy crazy. We get hit down under three times, excessive import duty, low value Australian peso, and the distributor doubles the price so he can make as much profit as if he was in the USA.......

Interesting... so from that, are some interfaces capable of more? ... I wonder how many tracks are possible via USB at the same time

depends on the interface. Your mixer only allows a stereo send, so you can't adjust individual tracks as such.

I have the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 and I have ten mic pres and 8 ADAT inputs that can each go into a DAW as individual tracks to be mixed individually. I use it to record my band live.

But that mixer is perfect for you right now.

Add a DAW like Reaper and you're set.

  9. OK  I was being polite

Drummer is all over the shop, singer can't sing, bass can be heard.Band is not tight at all.I would not go out to hear your band.

I really didn't wanna hurt your feelings, but

    you asked., no demanded

I thought my original comment was self explanatory but obviously not to you :)

  10. If you don't change how you mix, how will a new mixer make things better?

You are not happy with the mix now, you need to work on your mixing skills not buy a new mixer

If your bass playing sucked, would a new boutique bass make you play better or would lessons improve your playing?

  11. PLEASE tell me you installed Windows 10 64 bit, please

I'm recording on a windows 32 bit laptop and it isn't ideal, glitches, and you can only use 4Gb of RAM on 32 bit. But I bought the computer before I had a need to record onto it.

Reaper is a fully featured DAW,with all built in effects, for $60 for a multi-year license, and the BEST forum support of any product ever.

  12. I have a Tascam DR40, around $150. Records to DAW specs. Two combi jacks for mic or instrument input. Records in 4 track too if needs be.

But a cheap laptop and a Scarlett interface would be better if you can afford it.

BTW if you are running 32 bit windows, any RAM over 4Gb won't be used so don't do that. 64 bit windoze would be better if you can wangle it.

  13. huh? a bass solo is normally within a song.

this is a bass song,  and very nice indeed

you have some great ideas, but may I say you are overdoing the harmonics? they sometimes impede the nice melodies you are playing.

very soothing piece you played, I'd like to hear more :)

My trick was always to bend the bit of the string where the bare wire goes round the ball end at a 45 degree angle so that the ball end didn't get trapped on the bottom of the bridge peg and ping it out.

I can't believe it took this long for someone to post a pic showing how to do it.

Apparently a picture DOES tell a thousand words
