1. Just bought a littlemark ii from Megagames- what a pleasant and swift transaction!

put in the for sale forum in the morning, i messaged him and paid in the evening, posted next day and arrived the day after that- very pleasant transaction with great communication.

  2. ok so i've started to get more into the very full on fuzz sounds of the various dub step/electronic sort've thread in here, and while perusing the internet for a Copilot Mantis II (if anyone has anything to say about that pedal please let me know) and stumbled across the website for a shop which in the grand scheme of things is really not very far away from where i currently am, and has a massive collection of fancy pedals that half of which, tbh, i've never heard of

while trying to dig through their extensive catalogue i found this.. http://www.crushthebutton.be/spip.php?page...;id_produit=274

and wondered if it would fit into my current craving for synthish dubsteppy sounds or if it would be a toy i'd never use? and has anyone used Fromel gear before?

and is there anything else on that site that i should really take the opportunity to go and test before my move back to the UK?

    Thanks all

and apologies for the woeful thread title :)

  3. is there a difference (and if so what) between noise gates/suppressors?

I have the NS-2 i've never used another such thing to compare it to, so the only fair thing i can say is that my set-up is alot better overall/much more forgiving for having it

  4. option 1, it will always look a little like a jazz to me bass because it has the appropriate pickups and curves, but it's different enough to never be mistken for one. plus i just prefer having a peice of plastic under where i pop the strings.

personally i'd go with a black/grey coloured plate with with similar detail and let the emphasize the ash, but that's becuase i like monochrome where possible.

it's you bass so if you fancy garish then surely if there was ever a time to play with such styles it's now.

but looks like a great bass so far :)

  5. i'm loving some of the sounds in this thread so far-

but alot of it is based on swish pedals, and i already have more pedals than i can fit in my little flat next year, so i'm in the process of putting together a rack set up- nothing too fancy or expensive yet apart from my VT3 custom for the some nice fuzz sounds. i'm eying up something like a G major to liberate some floor space, leaving a few pedals elsewhere for occasional/future use.

so i'm wondering if anyone's had any experience getting these kind've sounds using rack gear? if if so- what?

  6. i think that you should play what makes you happy, regardless of situation. and if that happens to be an 80quid shine then that's money saved really.

as it is i /have/do/you know i will spend more money on gear than i need becuase it's fun to have and play, just like any person with any hobby.

though i think a valid point is that compared to say cars or clothes (or shoes, bags and shiny objects in the case of WAG's)- is that good gear hold it's value, especially the stuff that travels around this forum. so depreciation is minimal- making splashing the cash that much easier

  7. does a compressor really count as it's more above volume control that soudns altering, for me at least. but that's my priority number one

after that i'd go with some kind of thick, punchy, Lemmy-in-a-blender kind of dirty OD

  8. same as above- i tried but it wouldn't accept until i'd picked one for each- so i went based on why i probably will be needing to sell my jazz soonish as i've never sold anythign on here.

there's not a section for "i actually need new stuff thats does something i can't currently do" at least that's what i convinced myself i would vote for, but tempation is the way it had to go...

  9.
Think my 2 US Fender Precisions are probably the Vauxhall Astras of the bass world - nothing fancy, but very reliable, and you can get spare parts for them virtually anywhere.
i agree with most of that- but i'd say fender precisions are more the ford transits becasue thay got everything else where they are
