I am in fact an overweight, out-of-shape 40-something grey-haired old git
Ok, not too much of the grey hair but I've got the other boxes well and truly ticked and eighteen months before I'm out of my forties.....

Lots of amps!
-
BFM cabs are brilliant. Clear sounding, loud and with the Deltalites they'll be light as well.
Teamed up with the LMII makes a cracking rig IMO.
Buy! Buy! Buy! -
Just bought a preamp off John and found him an absolute pleasure to deal with.
Many thanks John!
Grahame -
Those Genz Shuttle 6s' are smashing little things!
Valve pre as well of course. -
Just bought Bens' QSC power amp.
I found Ben to be a thoroughly pleasant chap to deal with who kept in touch throughout the deal.
Thanks Ben!
Grahame -
I've been playing quite a bit of Bach on my lovely sixxer (Thanks Matt!) which is tuned EADGBE.
Works a treat for me. -

I feel for you.... -
Similar comments here, a good teacher opens so many doors.
I'm taught by Maurice Cope – IMO, the man’s a legend! -
I'd rather go for this -
Use whatever string give the sound you want. If they cause wear on the board get it reshot or replaced when it's too bad.
Couldn't agree more!
It's not a major job cutting a board back or even replacing the whole thing.
Andy Viccars has done a cracking job of replacing a board with, 'A nice bit of ebony I got under me bench somewhere....'. -
Just bought an Ampeg pre' and PA off Stu.
Really pleasant guy and keen to ensure all is well with the deal.
Cheers Stu -
Not ill, but you should be ashamed of yourself.
Three basses doesn't even get close to the minimum required - you need at least seven basses and around five or six amps.
Now go away and get yourself sorted. -
I love my Ampegs - B25, V4 and SVT :brow:
The 'great' sound of valves, IMO, is from overdriving the power section and doing this with an SVT without injuring children and small animals isn't always possible.
Cue the smaller amps - the tone from the B25 is, again IMO, just righteous and at a reasonable volume.
I've yet to hear a valve preamp replicate this but I'm still looking.
But as everybody says, an all-valve head is bloody heavy... -
take it to a tech and ask to sit in its a 5min job.
That Sir, is very sound advice! -
I think that sums things up rather nicely Pete
The legendary Andy Viccars - Milton Keynes.
+1 Andy's the biz' -
+1 Re' the Brake Cleaner.
'Kin evil stuff but it's really effective at stripping grease (I use it in my business for cleaning stuff prior to TIG welding).
Gotta be really careful about inhaling the vapour... -
Hipshot recommend the BT7 for the VM Jazz.
It fits ok but needs new holes drilling for the screws.
-
Go for it - I started having lessons aged 45 with Maurice Cope.
Best thing I've ever done but then Maurice is a fine, fine teacher......
Good luck whatever you choose. -
Sorry to mess you about but I've changed my mind and I don't need it now........
-
Just bought Matts' TRB6 JP.
Matt's an absolute gentleman to deal with, showing exemplary patience with me as I bumbled through the UKs' internet banking system......
Ignore an opportunity to trade with this man at your peril!
Many thanks my friend!

No excuse for turning up at a gig without an amp when there's stuff like this about at these prices! :brow:
