Unfortunately it doesnt have the trim pot on it. This helps you to dial in the pre-set mid range on the active pre. Still a great sounding pre without it though

I was going to put up my 1990 Thumb NT4! Then after having waxed and cleaned and polished, and played for 4 hours, the reality of selling it would have been crazy..It would be total sellers regret!!

These early thumbs upto 92 with their slim neck profile, have arguably become and rightly so classics..The sound of the fundamental on the low E, just rock when played through an old Trace Elliot rig..

Someone will be very happy with this beauty..

    GLWTS 👍 😃

Exactly this! Not to mention the Schaller tuners, brass JUST-A-NUT I and solid brass bridge. My 87 JD Thumb aint going nowhere!

Apparently the neck has been shimmed to improve the action. With that thicknessof shim, I think a judicious bit of filing would have been a better approach and might have increased the value to somewhere above the £50 mark.

Last time i checked, you are only supposed to shim under the very end of neck, not the whole neck pocket!?!?

  4. Vintage Schaller M4(180) machine heads, 12mm bore, 4 Left, black, NOS
These are new old stock items still in the original packaging. I have only opened the packaging to take photos and confirm that all parts are present and correct.
Please note that these are vintage 12mm diameter Schaller machine heads, NOT the current 14mm.

    65GBP shipped within mainland UK.

I would allow 25% on top of the price and the shipping.

Best option is to fly over to Frankfurt Main or Hahn and collect in person. Return Ticket is probably the same as the shipping costs with insurance alone....

I willbe visiting in the UK at Christmas time so any interested parties let me know and Ican easily bring it with me...

  8. Hello to all the luthiers out there,

My German built Corvette $$ 5 string is suffering from a very badly twisted neck and I am almost certain it will need to be replaced. I am currently in touch with Warwick to see how much the price of a new neck is but I fear it may be well out of budget.

As such I am currently looking for luthiers to advise me on how much they would charge to build me a replacement neck.

I am guessing that the front facing of the headstock may be a challenge so, if it helps, I could ship the old headstock to you and maybe you could transplant it on to the new neck?

Any advice and quotes are gratefully received.

    thank you,

    Chris

Yep moving a tuner is just slight cosmetic wear.

I think the repositioning of the tuner is the least of the issues!

Reshaping the headstock completely ruins the aesthetics and value of the instrument!
