cheers for the heads up just away to go stick it on in a mo

adjusting the height of the neck pick seems to have helped, there does still seem to be a slight dip when the pick up blend control is in the centre but no where near as bad as before
hehe, I have severe GAS for one of these, its a shame they never seem to come up 2nd hand.
yeah mine came about thourgh an ad in the wanted section here, seems to be the odd 4 stringer or JJ5 cropping up in the for sale but ive only ever saw one other JM5 up for sale -
i really wish i could stick at the Billy Sheenan three finger plucking technique but get frustrated at not being able to get it going any faster than 90bpm using semi-quavers and give up
pick playing is something I keep going back to it every once and a while but as much as i love the sound some guys get it just doesnt seem to suit my playing -
thanks for the posts guys
I'm after one of these exact basses. How is the neck? I'll be keeping an eye on this for replies to the PUP too.
the neck is superb IMO, not to chunky or to skinny and the only thing ive had that has even came close was the maple neck that was on my CIJ P bass
cheers mike i will give it a try see if that makes a diff -
Bought one of these from the marketplace on here about 2 months ago and really digging the bass apart from the neck pick up (it’s a Delano PUP) which seems really weak and sounds very muddy. I'm just wondering if any folks on here with the same model have had similar experiences and if poss could suggest a suitable replacement pick up

Yep that post didn’t make much sense
meant to say that couldn’t help the poster with a camera but was wondering what kind of band he played in as depending on which could suggest a couple of alternatives to get vids done without forking out dosh -
Hello there,
I should imagine that a good few of you film your own band when ever you gig - perhaps more as a record of events than a rockumenatary, if you will.
I need a camera for this very thing.
Must be reliable, good value, handy-sized/good portability, have relatively good sound reproduction (or an attachable mic) and work well in the low levels of light we have become accustomed to working/stumbling around stage in.
Second hand is not a problem.
So, can you recommend a camera?
Thanks,
Mike
i cant help u out, is it for a originals or function band -
bump for this very sexy bass

totally addicted to this song after somebody posted it in another thread, can see it being a fairly big hit despite the number of F bombs he drops in the song

I'm really trying to getting my RH muting sorted out at the mo, I never had any probs with muting on 4 string but have shifted to 5 string and the low B string is causing me grief as it resonates in sympathy when I move up to the D and G strings. So far the easiest way I have found to combat this is to barre the three lowest strings with the side of my thumb but this feels pretty unnatural, just wondering what other folk do with regards to RH muting + any advice or tips would be much appreciated

Anyone tune to C?
in Bass Guitars
Posted
I'm going to be tuning C-G-C-F for a new project and I'd like some advice on strings.
I usually use 45-65-85-105 to tune to E and if I tune these down to C they're not too bad apart from the bottom C, which is really loose.
If anyone has experience with this tuning could I get away with 50-110 or would 55-115 be better? or something else entirely?
I don't want to go too heavy but don't want the strings to be too loose either.
Other people have suggested getting a 5-string set and throwing away the G but I don't know if they might be too heavy to feel comfortable.
If it makes any different I'm using a standard Fender Precision.
Thanks
having the action set on the bass for playing in drop C will help
