  1. *PRICE DROP* £2250

Bought new by my stepfather in '73 and was used for a few years. Since then, it has sat in storage for over 40 years. I have recently spent £300 having the amp serviced and a new power socket fitted etc. Below is a list of the works carried out:

    - Four main power filter capacitors have been replaced due to leakage and corrosion.

    - Several smaller electrolytic capacitors have been replaced due to leakage and falling out of tolerance.

    - The two smoothing capacitors on the rectification stage have been replaced due to failure.

    - One control knob was replaced as it had cracked and fallen apart.

    - A number of resistors have been replaced due to falling out of tolerance and/or showing visible signs of heat wear.

The shop can also be contacted to discuss the work carried out if you require, Dex is happy to talk through. If you search Dex Audio in Stroud, you will be able to find the contact for the shop.

Dex has had the amp running for over 48 hours with no noise but as this amp has not been used for so long, there may be some minor servicing required on it as you continue to use it.

The amp is in original condition apart from the parts for servicing. Any questions, please get in touch.

EDIT: I have since been informed that this amp is quite a bit rarer than I thought. The circuit board is point to point and the output transformer is a Dagnall C2373; both of which I have been told are very desirable!

Cash only, I am not interested in any trades. Collection from Stroud or I am willing to meet within a reasonable distance.

Take off the control-cavity cover.  Mine have the model name written on the inside.  G.

Unfortunately the screws are threaded (should have mentioned this in the original post) but we’re going to open it up next week. Thank you for replying! Max

Great playing! Sounds lovely. What's the make of the round-wound strings you have on it, they do sound like flats. I'm interested in the bass as I was born in '61 and always wanted a year-of-birth Custom Precision.

Thanks a lot! I’m not actually sure what the strings are. They’re whatever Fender stick on their instruments as stock. I used to have a Pino CS with flats but I’m preferring the versatility of round-wounds on this bass. Tone is rolled off by about 75% and palm muting gives the flat-wound sound.

    *NO TRADES. CASH ONLY*

No trades, please don’t ask... After the 20th “how about this”, it gets really annoying.

Bought this brand new back in February for £3,199. Need yet more money for my house renovation so another has to go! Played only a small number of times, predominantly in the studio.

Fantastic bass, I opted for it over a Pino CS (which I have also owned previously).

It weighs 9b/4.0kg (according to the original listing with Bass Direct), however it feels lighter than this when playing it.

    Here is the original listing:

Video of me noodling on the bass:

I am located in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Collection preferred but I can also send if necessary.

OHSC and case candy all included. Only mod I have made is sticking some Dunlop straplocks on it

    Thanks!

  5. Bought brand new 11/2017. Comes with the Aguilar hard carry case which cost £250.

Amp is in perfect condition, case has slight signs of wear. I will post some proper pictures soon but am just providing screenshotted photos from gigs/studio for now.

Located in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Collection preferred but could sort out delivery if necessary.

Only trade I will consider is for an Aguilar AG700 + cash. Shoot me a near offer to listed price, need the amp gone quickly.

    Cheers!

  6. Tentative sale! I may back down from my decision to post! (I have done before)

Not much I need to say on this, you know how good they are...

Weight is around the 4.2kg range. 34” scale. A few minor defects but still in very good condition. Bass comes with non original Fodera teardrop case and case candy.

Victor Wooten signed the battery cover plate for me when I saw his trio in London a few months ago. The pictures provided were taken before the signing but I can provide more photos if you require, just PM me.

Victor Wooten also played this bass back when it was at Thomann. Again, video can be shown if required.

I will only entertain trades with early-mid 60s precision (plus cash if not all original etc), pino palladino CS + cash or low 60s CS P bass + cash.

I am located in Gloucestershire. Pick up or can split cost on delivery.

    Cheers!
