    Resurrecting this old thread...why?

...because I've recently replaced my Proton Mk4, which is a great piece of kit, with an EBS IQ filter for a fraction of the cost and finding I'm really liking this new pedal! I suspect it's rapidly in danger of becoming my all time favourite filter pedal. The Q (bandwidth) function adds a delicious swell in a live setting.

Really nice review of its capabilities: Pascal Mulot demo of EBS BassIQ Blue Label Envelope Filter

How it sounds in a live mix: Al Krow (@al_krow) • Instagram photos and videos

Yes the EBS  is a nice filter

Loving this right now. Mollie Marriott (Daughter of Stevie Marriott). She's got a great voice, just like her Dad. The apple didn't fall far from the tree. Song is by the recently departed Karl Wallinger (World Party) and I find myself agreeing with the lyrics.

I purchased “Ship of Fools” on 12” single  in 1986(?)  great tune

    Blue Monday  - New Order

Never before, or since, have a band built their reputation as "musical geniuses" on a single piece of music before churning out a careers worth of bland, forgettable dross.

Also anybody claiming that Hooky was a great bassist needs an intervention...

Peter Hook - Great Bassist for sure

He had his own style which was certainly influential so the lack of “technical chops” or formal musical education becomes moot

New Order already had a reputation (career) before “Blue Monday”

I think I was 11 years old when I purchased the 12” single of “Blue Monday” and I already owned Joy Division records ( as did Dad)

I can’t think of a more influential band in the New Zealand indie music scene than Joy Division

Does it have 1 or 2 trim pots on top of the Bartolini MTD G preamp?

Funnily enough, the exact unit that I sold about 8 years ago has just come up second hand locally here in nz. It is the older style with the mains power wired in which was one of the reasons I sold it in the first place.

    Trade Me special.

    “mains power wired in”

what does this mean? No battery?
