Yes, putting the gain at max and playing loud, you can hear a sort of compression for protection.
Good you choose the Gnome instead of the Bam, cause for the moment some of us says they have electronic problems with the Bam.
I’ve had my Bam for well over a year now with no problems at all, certainly the other users I’ve come across have all been happy with the product. Use it and enjoy is my advice.

Big thank you to Mrs Scrumpy and the Scrumpets for feeding us and to Mike for organising another brilliant day out, so much stuff to try out, highlight for me was the 8” cab @Phil Starr, beginning to regret not trying to take that one home !!!

No problem Phil, I will have my BAM200 on the day, you’re welcome to have a play with it .

Mrs Wrinkley is on the road to recovery and I’ve organised a sitter, so I will be there
for at least part of the day, certainly until early afternoon, hopefully that leaves enough time for the Scrumpets to ensure adequate stocks of crumble are on hand.
I may not have enough time to pick up a cab beforehand, mine is over at a friends, so if anyone has a spare I could use on the day , I would be grateful, I’m also on the lookout for a compact 1x10, should anyone have something for sale, can’t afford “Barefaced” prices tho’, needs to be cheap and cheerful.
Will PM Frank with a list.

I’ve purchased a musicman stingray so it’s close to the bottom of the body I’ll take a look at some of the Mono guitar cases cheers
Have a look at the TGi extreme range, in particular the classical and small acoustic guitar bags, they will need some extra padding to the sides, but length wise they are close to most shortscale basses.

Unfortunately Mrs Wrinkley’s health has taken a turn for the worse, so it’s looking unlikely that I’m going to make it this year. Having said that, her planned operation was cancelled literally at the last minute on Friday so anything could change yet !!!

Masterpiece !!!!

For years I used a Korg Pandora (PX4D I think) batteries lasted for ages or you could use a main’s adapter, don’t know if there’s anything similar on today’s market place, brilliant piece of kit, perhaps they’re still available on the s/h market, does exactly what you need.
Looks like the nearest modern equivalent is the Line6 pocket pod, good luck in your quest.

I use the TC clip on, had mine for years, works well on guitar or bass and is easy to read even in bright sunlight, battery lasts for ages, if it ever dies I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another.

Another absolute stunner, won’t be long now Frank, actually words alone don’t do justice to a Jabba bass !!!!!

53.5mm on a Squier CV Mustang.
Excellent, thanks for taking the time, Mike.

Anybody on this thread with a Sqier Mustang, please could you measure the neck width at the 12th fret, only need the width, thickness won’t be an issue, thanks, Mike B.

Used to have a ‘73 Gibson EB0 strung with Labella low tension flats, had no problem with the low E.

Another thumbs up for the Neo Mega, Bass Direct give very clear dimensions, I use the same strap for a couple of P basses and two of my PRS guitars, a single cut and a mccarty, best strap I own.

Have you tried Bassdirect, think they are the largest labella dealer in the Uk , good luck.

Love mine to bits, gig it regularly with a 112 Ashdown cab, 8ohm, plenty of bottom with either of my P basses, I was confused initially by the manual info on the gain led, until I realised it blinks green when a signal is detected, then through amber as the gain is increased, finally to red on overload, something the manual fails to mention.
At £129 it’s amazing value for money, never had issues and would certainly buy another if it ever needs replacement.

8 inch speaker build
in Amps and Cabs

I would have happily bought this cab at the SW Bash on Sunday, although after seeing some of the 110 cabs around on the day I’m starting to question whether I should go down this route, most of my gigs these days are on the garden party/café circuit.
Have to say the 8” was a real surprise to play through , looking forward to the build thread. Mike B.
