  1. Fender Jazz Bass 4 bolt maple neck (1973A). Quite a succesfull design... 😉

Black binding/blocks. Very old black over walnut finish (probably factory refin as they did in

those days to comply with custom orders) white 3ply pick guard.

Stackpole potmeters (1973), Fender pickups (1972). This bass has been refretted and a brass nut (a trendy

repkacement in the late seventies/early eighties) is restored with a bone one. The bass plays perfectly with

action as low as you wanna go. Pickup output is very powerfull. This beautiful thing really is as good as an

early seventies Jazz Bass is gonna get and most certainly it won’t lose value either.

A nice weight of 4000 grams/8.8LBS of groovy funky jazzy coolness. Looots of Geddy Lee , Chris Squire,

Larry Graham and Marcus Miller vibes.

    Comes with (later) Fender case

  3. Japanese Sadowsky 5 string in very good condition with all the 70’s DNA a five string Jazz Bass could possibly have.

Ash body, maple neck/board, bound neck, block inlays. Pickups in 70’s position providing for more clear and tight sound options.

Bass is fitted with new Sadowsky single coils and new pre amp with VTC. I can reïnstall the original Sadowsky humfree pickups

and pre amp (with no VTC) if desired.

Frets are like new and provide for action as low as you like. This is quite an early UV70  which means the neck is not reïnforced

with graphite strips as the woods were still top quality. Maybe I am delusional but in my hands I feel a more organic bass that

sounds more like wood than the later ones. Not better, but different. Comes with the well known Sadowsky rectangular semi hard case.

These are arguably the best '70's Jazz fivers around they are relatively rare (not sure, maybe hundreds or less exist) and they

are not being produced anymore. On par with the NYC quality, not with any MIG and MIC I played. Offers considered.

  4. Sadowsky Metro Japan Hybrid PJ5 ash/maple (2004).

Black hardware as seen on NYC’s. 4100 grams of groovy

gravy gravity making sushi of any PJ in the wild west.

Comes with original semi hard (or is it semi soft? 😉) Sadowsky rectangular case.

  5. Sadowsky NYC Original P (2005)
Alder body, maple neck, BR RW board
    20 fets, 9" radius, 1 1/2" Nut width (J),
    '59 burst, Vintage neck tint
    Hardware chrome
    Weight 3,74kgs

Unique Sadowsky NYC. The only one I have ever seen. Action, weight, balance and entire playability is best of the best.

Sound is deep like a Precision bass with clarity rather than that quacking Precision sound. Very smooth and well blending.

Comes with original Sadowsky rectangular semi hard case.

  6. The late Rick Turner created a lot of magic in the world of music. The first PA system ever for a band called Rare Earth. The first Alembics. And this Renaissance is one of the later evidences of his brilliance. This thing can sound as bassguitar, acoustic bassguitar and upright'ish: all the oomph, grind and mwaaaah you ever need at 2400 grams only. Bass is new and one of the last ones new built by the master himself.

  7. Ash body

    Maple neck/board with black inlays
Graphite reinforcement bars inside the neck
    Compound radius fingerboard
Neck width at nut 47,5 mm
String spacing at the bridge +/-18 mm
    Scale 34"

    Fender noiseless pickups (4th gen.)
Threeband EQ (18v) with passive tone control

Fender bridge with through body stringing (maximum sustain) or traditional top load (more attack)

Easy access dual way truss rod adjusting with spoke wheel at the base of the neck (like Sadowsky)

    Including Fender OHSC and certificate.

The bass is in very good, almost new, condition. No issues. Elites are arguably some of the best basses ever built by Fender.

  9. Ash body, quilted maple top, maple 3 piece neck with block inlays and binding. Low End proprietary stacked single coil pickups. Pre amp Gregory G-BP3 (brand new,

much like F Bass, transparent and very musical but more versatile.)

String spacing at bridge +/- 19mm

Very solid well thought over top quality Jazz Bass built by Benavente guitars and assembled by Brian 'Mr. Low End' Barrett.

Plays and feels very comfortable, sounds like a Jazz Bass on steroids with extended note capacity.

    Hi there.

Those are terrific, terrific basses. Great playability and wide palette of sounds. Killer B string.

I have the same model, but from 2002. I’ve kept Bartolini p/ups - sounds phenomenal for any kind of music. Will never sell.

Given the prices nowadays I think yours is correct priced as well. Beauty! One would wonder why is this still here.

Thanks for your supportive comments. These oldies have something special. Whether it is a different build quality or ‘just’ the ageimg of the woods I don’t know, but it feels like an old  jeans, without the relic stuff.. just some minor honest playing wear. Considering the condition, the lightness and the extra set of pickups I think the price ia justified. New this would cost now over €5750. Then again: old woods versus new woods is easy math…

  12. Steve showed interest in a bass I advertised on BC. All communication was very sensible

and pleasant. We agreed on the deal and payment was done quickly.

Meanwhile the bass has gone through customs in the UK with no delay and Steve kindly

expressed to be very happy with it: a perfect example of things working out well for both!

  13. Bought a nice FBass from Alexis. Communication was very pleasant. When we agreed on the terms and payment was done Alexis took care of good packing and quick shipping. The bass arrived in good order and in the perfect condition as projected by Alexis. Recommended Basschatter!

  14. Sadowsky Metro Japan UV70 (2012)

Ash body, maple neck/board, 70's pickups position, 19mm string spacing, dark see-through black finish, black bounded neck and block inlays.

Sadowsky humfree pickups and Sadowsky pre-amp with VTC. With a little under 4700 grams not the lightest -for a Sadowsky- but certainly

one of the snappiest and tightest! Marcus Millerish? 100%! Bass is fitted with Nordstrand single coil 70's winding (€220) which sound more

open and dynamic. The bass comes with the original Sadowsky pickups in the Sadowsky rectangular semi-hardcase.
