  1. Hi all,

I own of the  the newer Squier Classic Vibe 70s Jazz bass (like here: https://shop.fender.com/en-DE/squier-electric-basses/jazz-bass/classic-vibe-70s-jazz-bass/0374540506.html?rl=en_US)

and find it super comfortable to play. I find that the bass body somewhat hangs more to the right (I play standing up usually) and that makes the lower notes on the fretboard really easy to play. I never played or owned a Fender Jazz bass where the distance is so short to the headstock.
When I compare it to the other Fender Jazz I currently own (it's one of the Mexican Flea models in pinkish), then the difference is striking and quite pronounced.

Does anyone know if that is a feature of the Fender 70s basses?  Do other Fender models have a similar design?

    Cheers,

    Udo

  2. Hello,

my band stopped gigging for the moment so I thought I put my amp and cab up for sale.

Both have only seen a handful of stages, I mostly used them in rehearsal and I would say they are like new - pristine!

Everything works 1A and it is a really sweet combination, I think a couple of you out there use the same. Tons of volume and punch from the amp and the cab adds its extra layer of Barefaced goodness/smoothness. Plus really back friendly coz both are so light!

The cab is for collection only, the amp I could ship as well if needed.

    Barefaced SC £550
    Quilter BB800 £ 425 (plus postage)

    Cheers,

    Udo

  3. Hello together,

here we have a 2016 Fender Flea Jazz Bass. All is as it should be, it currently sports very new Fender flats and sounds majestic.

Don't ask me about the extra thumb rest - I am the 3rd owner and the guy I got it from told me that the first owner put it there.
It doesn't bother me so it's still there.

Collection is preferred, anywhere around London works for me. I don't have a case and box to ship it in.

    Cheers,
    Udo

  4. I had it for a couple of years, it has some superficial marks, but nothing serious, everything works as it should.

It really is a nice pedal, probably indestructible and I am only selling it as I moved to a Stomp.

Price includes UK shipping, if you are outside of the UK, just get in touch and we can work something out.

Here is the blurb from Aguilar with the tech details:

Threshold control: variable from -30 to -10 dB

Slope control: variable from 2:1 to infinity

Attack control: variable from 10ms to 100ms

    Level control: -infinity to -3dBu

    Low Distortion: (<0.2 %)

Gig-saver bypass (signal passes even if your battery dies)

Power: Nine-volt battery or optional universal power supply

    Heavy Duty steel construction

    Inputs: One 1/4" jack

    Outputs: One 1/4" jack

    Controls: Engage switch

    Warranty: Three year limited

    Optional: 9 volt power supply

  5. OK, a bit more of a feeler now. If anyone fancies this, try me with a sensible offer.

I should mention that it doesn't come with the extra Foo Fighters neckplate unfortunately, the folks at Wunjo didn't have it when selling me the bass.

I'd also be tempted in a swap deal with a black Stingray, ideally of the 2EQ kind because too many knobs just confuse me.

  6. A bit of a feeler for now. I bought it very recently from Wunjo in London and it looks and sounds ace.

I still try to get used to it, but as much as I like the bass, I seem to get on a lot better with a Jazz neck. Still trying to convince myself that my hand will adjust...
Anyway, everything about it is as new as can be, the serial number shows it's from 2018 and it never left my flat, hence the price.

    Cheers,

    Udo

  7. Hello all,

this is a brilliant pedal to beef up your sound and add a lot of warmth. It has a proper tube and a 3EQ as well, plus a vintage/modern switch (modern sounds less boomy and adds a bit of mids i would say).

The problem with the pedal is that the bypass switch stopped working properly. Sometimes I still manage to get it working by carefully pressing it halfway down and releasing it again. But I would never trust it on stagein its current stage.

It might be an easy fix if you know your way around elecronics, or it may not.

Anyway, if you get this working again you got yourself a brilliant pedal for a scandalous price.

    Thanks,

    Udo

  8. For sale two floor pedals.

Both are used and have some signs of it (the Boss more than the Aguilar), but work as they should.

The Aguilar TLC is superb and I own it from new, works with 9V battery or a power adaptor.

The Boss pedal I bought off ebay but never really used it tbh.

I switched to a Helix Stomp, so no need for any other pedal :)

I look for £20 for the ODB and

    £120 for the Aguilar TLC.

Happy to post if you are up for paying that.

    Cheers,

    Udo

  9. @Al Krow in my eyes the 734A is a superb bass with no flaws and lots of positives. The P34 then adds a lusher feel and a more vintage and at the same time punchier sound. At least that's how I justified to myself spending the moneys on it.
But it's also the first bass ever which made me think 'I do not ever need another bass again'.

  10. --Last drop before this goes to fleabay--

The big clear out continues with this sweet bass. When I got it in the autumn last year I couldn't believe how superb it plays and sounds.

It kept amazing me so much, that I decided to buy one of the new Yamaha BB P34 since I prefer a passive tone anyway.
The P34 is so good that I now sell off all my other basses, just in case you wonder why I spam this forum so much with offers :)

I used this one for a couple of gigs and it has a small chip at the headstock, two little dents on the front (the paint is not cracked though) and maybe 4 or 5 very minor marks on the back of the neck. All just cosmetic at best.

You probably know the specs of these ones, here is a link to the Yamaha website with all the details (https://www.yamahamusiclondon.com/BB-734A-Electric-4-String-Bass-Guitar/pidGBB734ADCS).

Apart from sounding really neat it also looks fantastic, I really like the black headstock on them. Currently it has TI flats on and it comes with a pretty solid Yamaha gig bag.
Ideally I wouldn't want to post it, but could also if needed.
    Any questions, let me know!

    Thanks,
    Udo

34” on the modern reissue (think 31.5 or 30.5 on the original 60’s ones)

that's it, I measured 17 inch from the nut to the 12th fret.
