1. Hello, would you consider any trades?
I have a Squier 5 string precision (the one with jazz pups) Antique Burstused a couple of times - brand new condition.
Or
Cort Curbow 4 string active black
Or
Trace Elliot 150 watt, SMC, carpet version, usual excellent Trace sound, couple of marks on one of the ports & a couple of marks on the top - hardly notible.
(swap + £50 my way.
Could deliver

2. Excellent sounding bass amp from Ashdown.
Only used at home for practice, suitable for gigs - great range of tones.
Owned from new - perfect condition

Blurb
"The Ashdown EB12-180 has a 180 watts RMS fan-cooled fast-transient power stage, and a fully-featured bass preamplifier with inputs for both active and passive instruments, a "VU style" LED input level meter, 5 band EQ with Bright and Deep switches, a front panel-mounted balanced DI output for connection to a PA or recording console, an FX loop, a tuner/line output and the classic Ashdown sub-harmonic generator."
collection only but may be able to help with delivery within reason - for petrol money.

£130 or May consider a 4 string trade

3. I also hate this on ebay when they demand collection only from 'London' WHERE in London, it's a foggin big place. I can drive 100 miles to my Mums house in Birmingham quicker than travelling across London.
I have emailed people with ads like that asking where in London and they reply 'Yeah mate, that's right, collection from London'

4. I think John Taylor is genius bass player, he used to have his own web site that had loads of vids of him just mucking about at home & he was (is) incredible.
The bass lines he writes don't make life easy for himself.
DD not my fave band in the world - just a un-recognised good bass player.

5. He's a ponce and a poser, no bass has ever been that naturally road worn no matter how many times it's been played (not saying Sting did it himself)
How often does he change his life story, in his autobiography he tells tales of when he was an infant school teacher - then re-tells the story that he was a senior school teacher!
He's a great bass player though

6. Played but not owned, OK basses but over priced in new and second hand market.
Don't really understand the point of a tribute bass.
Higher priced than a Mex Fender for the quality of a decent Squier - IMO.
CHEERS

7. I had a 1996 Squier Jazz that was one of the best basses I've owned, I really regret selling it, I don't think I'll ever get any other bass that was as easy to play, low action, stayed in tune & everything else I want in a bass.

8.
It's a Cort, made in Korea late 70s/early 80s, and sold in the UK as Kay, and a million other names around the globe. I think if you unscrew the TRC on this, it will probably have a Kay logo on the other side! There's one on the Bay right now:

Cort did dozens of variations on this particular neckthrough template, all of which are identifiable by the rather sexy triple brass dot inlays - I've seen Alembic-shaped basses, flying V guitars, the "Cort 45" travel guitar & bass, Washburn Wing series ripoffs.

Anyway I've had the bass version the same as this, very nicely-made instrument, actually had great-sounding pups in mine - in fact the sticker on this one is telling you it has "Powersound" pickups! :) . The only real problem (which is common on budget through-necks) was an unadjustably high action - saddles won't go low enough & obviously you can't shim the neck. I've seen some of these where the bridge has been sunk into the body to get it low enough.

Nice one!
It's pretty much identical, I took the control plate off the back but there's nothing on it - otherwise it's pretty much the same, a tiny difference between the dot markers.
cheers.
If anyone has more info I'd still appreciate it.

9. I'd appreciate if any fellow BCer's could identify this bass.
It's a thru neck & has a brass nut and what looks like elaborate brass dot markers.
There's a sticker between the pick ups, I can't make out what it says on it but I think it's irrelevant anyway.
cheers

10. OLP Musicman 3 5 String bass with gigbag
Natural coloured body with black scratchplate.
North American Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard.
Chrome hardware
22 frets, 34" scale
Excellent condition, some faint scratches can only be seen if held up to the light.
New strings
Bought on a whim, used a couple of times & only used the 'B' string to rest my thumb on.
Looking for £140, collection from Ealing, London but will deliver/meet up to 50 miles for a contribution to petrol.
PM if you want more detailed photo's
cheers
