I think fender just realised earlier on that copies actually helped their own sales in the long run, how many people here with genuine fender basses started on a cheap copy?

I have played in a trio for years that does this already, variax guitar, elec upright bass and electric drums. We can talk to each other at normal conversation volume levels behind the pa!

Unless you have superior cabs and play dub step I'd cut below 60hz completely. A low B still sounds just fine without the fundamental sucking the amps power and flapping your cones about for no reason.

You forgot to say they look crap, the logo sucks and the feet and handles fall off, Lol.

Ive spent loads with them, probably the best customer service (and prices) I've ever encountered.

I know a guy who plays with a world famous artist as his regular gig yet plays weird jazz stuff for fun and plays weddings and functions in the £50 a night bracket too, he uses a variety of basses and even plays mustang Sally.

Why not just enjoy both bad tone and bad playability by buying a Rickenbacker?

My technique is terrible on both, lol.

I dont need to test drive a car or be a car designer to know if it's not what I'm after, I dont see why bass cabs should be any different?

Ask him about DB or D and B monitors, lol.

One thing I have noticed is that most of the fans of these cabs never keep ANY gear long including amps, I've had one brand of amp for a decade, one for 8 years before that and about the same from my first gig 8 years before than I suppose, I've had one quality 2x12 for 10 years and it still sounds great and if anything im looking to reduce stage volume rather than get loads more from a tiny light box.

Six months on upright and they all feel small.

I think the egos of the first lookalike/soundalike become as bad as the real front person's and they either leave or get kicked out leaving a backing band with no 'star'?
