1.
Just got my Roqsolid cover....perfect fit, nice and padded inside, superb quality and great waterproof outer. Very impressed....cannot go wrong at that price. It basically looks better than some of the more expensive covers....very well cut and cut together. Roqsolid are very pro!
sounds good, am going to order one. i take it the cover has gaps for the handles?
 2.
Hey guys! Right, I have managed to source the Tecamp covers for the cabinets. They are quite pricey, but they do have front zips and an elastic part that keeps the covers on. I think they are probably the most intensely designed covers ever made! Now I can’t decide to get a Roqsolid one for £40 delivered or risk getting one from Germany and paying £90 + any charges it might get in the UK customs. Do we pay any duty on items coming in from Europe? It could work out at more than double the price, and in the end its going to get scuffed and marked anyway. Opinions?
nice one. if i bother i'll get the official cover i reckon, but not sure yet as its almost a third of what i paid for the amp! certain there are no customs fees with it being EU though.
 3. bump for the price drop! will take some new pics in daylight as they probably don't do it justice, the condition of this is excellent...oh, and the thing sounds awesome! PM me if you're interested.
 4.
Incomplete... Awaiting my QSC :brow: Better pics will be posted once I have the power amp...
ooh looks awesome!
 5. Pics added Can take more if necessary in daylight.
 6.
4ohms. Think this will be the last time I ever change amps!
nice! shame my head won't get here til monday
 7.
What sort of money are you thinking?
good question! :S has been a fairly swift decision so will have a think whats a fair price, given i've just shelled out on the retube/service also. will try and get some pics up pronto too!
 8.
What a little beast! The 350w Puma and S212 are way louder than my HD500 and Triad, and stupidly light! So many useable tones from the amp, normally I'm not a fan of boosted mids but this brings out a perfect tone, especially with a little tweak of the taste control. Looking forward to trying it out with the band!
Glad to hear it. Did you get the 8ohm or 4ohm S212 in the end?
 9. SOLD This sounds awesome and these are pretty rare now, having been discontinued about 2 years back. They are not stupidly heavy like the SVT-CL either, weighs about 40 pounds so really no trouble to move about alone. Reviews- HERE Is in very good condition, hasn't been gigged very much & well looked after. In fact just a couple of months back I had this retubed (Electro-Harmonix 6L6GC valves), fuses replace, serviced and basically fully checked over & have only gigged it once since. The tech guy measured it to 110 watts output and also certified it for safety. Collection preferred but will send by courier if necessary, am based centrally in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire/West Midlands (just off M40). Can possibly deliver or meet halfway for petrol. SOLD Thanks Official spiel: Classic all-tube Ampeg tone. The Ampeg V4BH 100 Watt Tube Bass Head is similar to the SVT, just smaller in output (100W). It uses the same tubes in the preamp and drive sections (2 - 12AX7 in the preamp, a 12AU7 and 12AX7 for drive). For the power section it uses 4 6L6s. Controls include 3-band EQ, 5-position mid-tone control, ultralow/high boost, and presence switch. Connections include normal and padded input, a balanced line out, and preamp out/power amp in. 24" x 11" x 13". 40 lbs. Ampeg V4BH 100 Watt Tube Bass Head Features: * 100W power at 4 and 8 ohms * All tube preamp, drive, and power sections * 3-band EQ * 5-position mid switch * Normal and padded input * Tube protection circuitry * Ultralow and high boost * Slave output jack * Tube complement: 2 - 12AX7 preamp, 12AU7 and 12AX7 driver tubes, four 6L6 power tubes * 8/4 ohm impedance section If you love the SVT sound but want it lighter and don't need the whole 300W, this is your head.
 10.
Result! Did you get the M or S series? The one item that sorely tempted me was a 4 ohm 212M but they reckoned that they had none, just the S version. In answer to your question; I reckon the Puma + 2x12 will easily do you for small venues and monitoring at large venues when you have PA support... if it doesn't and you have the M version just give me a shout.
Was the S series which I kind of expected after it had been highlighted on here. the M would've been better as a stand alone cab, but the extra space saving won't go amiss! Just ordered the Puma 350 to go with it!
 11. mine is here, looks great! is a 4ohm one too, bonus! suits me better as they said it'd be 8ohm in the phone & i want to use it alone if poss. am thinking of getting the Puma 350 head to go with it as that'll give me 350 watts into the 4ohm. imagine that should give me enough volume for small venues or just onstage sound at larger ones?
 12.
Dont worry about the strikes....guitarguitar site says they are not affected due to who they use. Has anyone got a 210 combo or 112 combo then?!?!??! There are quite a few left on the site...I want one!
S212 being delivered tomorrow! EDIT- dumb question removed, just read the answer! smile.gif
 13.
I ordered a Puma as well, couldn't resist at that price, a £1568 rig for £698 that weighs next to nothing. Can't wait for Friday's gig now!
was that the 350 Puma Head? (not sure if they had any 500s?). let me know how loud it goes if so as debating whether to also get the 350 puma head to go with the S212 or to get a Puma 500 or maybe orange terror bass. Having said, that there doesn't seem to be a lot in it between the Puma 500 and Puma 350 when using with just one 8ohm cab (which i would be) & the price difference will be huge as only the 350 is on offer: Puma 500 Output RMS: 500 w (4 ohms), 270 w (8 ohms) Puma 350 Output RMS: 350 w (4 ohms), 250 w (8 ohms) The Puma heads don't appear to have pre-valve sections like Genz/MB/Orange Terror but they seem to have had better reviews in some cases in terms of being deep. Maybe i'm being too judgemental of solid state gear being a valve lover!? think its a choice between the orange bass terror @ £412 which will give me 500 watts into 8ohm or the Puma 350 @ £349 which would give 250watts into 8ohm. Hmm i've maybe just answered my own dilemma - double the power for an extra £60! ...would prefer the slightly smaller and matching head though and sounds like the Puma might go deeper :S
 14. haha i decided against last night too and went to bed. 20 mins later i was downstairs ordering the 212!
 15.
Where abouts in the West Midlands are you? My Puma 350 will be arriving tomorrow if you want to try it out sometime.
ah thanks, i'm in Leamington Spa. what cab(s) you planning to use the puma 350 with?
 16.
I think Ken uses a couple of earlier front ported S212 and is very happy with that, but the M212 has a slightly bigger sound and a little darker. Both the S212 and M212 are fine cabs in my opinion and can't imagine anyone being disappointed at these prices. Interestingly I had both cabs at one point and sold the M212 in favour of the S212 only for the reason that the S212 was more than adequate for what I needed as a standalone backline cab with the main band, and just that little easier to carry. When I need more volumn I still have one of Doods old Tech Soundsystem 4x10s. If not I would have bought the 4x10 advertised for £399 yesterday.
what amp do you use with the S212 as a stand alone rig? and is that plenty enough volume for stage sound/small venues? thanks
 17.
Firstly you'd need to check if the 2x12 is 8ohm or not, as the 1x12 is only compatable with one other 8 ohm unit. If it was, then that'd put you at 500W through 3x12" speakers; sounds pretty damn good to me!
sorry forgot to mention its 8 Ohm. how do i know what the cab will put out alone? 350w? :S if i can get away with just the cab & a new head with it i will as saves cash and space but if not i guess i'll have to go for a combo.
 18. thanks for posting this, what a bargain event!! after much indecisiveness i bought a 2x12 last night! bit worried now though about it being the S212 and not the M212 and people saying bad things about them & about the S212 being enough as a stand alone. being smaller size wise will help though as space is an issue in my car! do people think this will work well enough as a stand alone cab to get decent volume or does it need another cab? is mainly for stage monitoring or smaller gigs without PA support (up to 150 people). i play a rickenbacker 4003, want a fair range of sound- a decent amount of highs & lows. in a rock 3 piece vs a drummer & guitarist with fender hot rod deluxe. i do need a fair bit of volume as i'm often up front singing, but as i say mainly just loud enough to hear onstage. am not actually sure on what head to use yet as this was a rushed decision to go with tecamp! my options would have been Mark Bass II/III, Orange Bass Terror or Genz 6.0 or 9.0, but now i'm considering getting a puma 350 head to go with it given the low price. any comparison recommendations? i guess the matching head would be nice if there's not a huge amount sound difference and its way cheaper. if people think this isn't enough power/volume alone i'd consider getting the tecamp 1x12 combo to go with it - with this be a natural pairing for the cab? any advice appreciated :-)
 19. I think the tone & sound of the SVT 410HE is awesome, but can struggle for volume on bigger stages/outdoor gigs (but that was probably more to do with me only using a 100 watt amp). If you like lots of lows then yes you would be better off with a 1x15 to go with it, but the lows haven't been an issue for me. USA made SVT 410HE for sale here- http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=50558

Perhaps not too far, my mate's from Cov like me and visits fairly often.
I know a good tech guy who specialises in valve amps right next to Coventry (kenilworth). He recently revalved my Ampeg V4BH. PM me if you want his contact info.
