1. Would consider splitting, but please specify what you are interested in.

Weight:

Head is 12 Kg
115 is 33Kg
210 is estimated as 35 Kg (can't find spec anywhere)

This is the main reason I am selling, I am rather older now than when I got them and about to start serious gigging again. Don't fancy lugging heavy lumps of kit around any more, so gone for something much lighter (and more expensive!!) now.

2. Now sold, my Ashdown ABM rig. Said a fond farewell to it yesterday, after many years of faithful service. But gone light(er) weight now.:

ABM EVO2 300W head

Ashdown 115 cab

Ashdown 210 cab

Used regularly until recently. All in perfect working order, except the vu-meter on the head does not work or light up. Equipment is about 12 years old, gigged occassionally but mainly home studio use.

Mains lead, but no cables, included.

Sorry about picture - low light gives long exposure and camera shake.

Collection only from Haslemere, near Guildford. May be able to deliver Guildford area or near M40 corridor.

3. A human metronome needed for reformed band. The band was well known in Guildford area, but paused for 3 years and has now reformed.

We have gigs promised and waiting - but need a drummer to complete the band.

We play mainly blues from 70's and 80's with a few more recent songs. Lots of Rolling Stones, Cream, Blues Brothers and similar.

Band has keys, guitar, bass. Keyboard player sings, and we have a female BV.

We practice once a week in own studio in Haslemere.

4. THIS ITEM NOW SOLD

For sale - a Musicman Bongo 4-string in Egyptian Smoke finish. It has one Humbucker and one Single Coil pickup arrangement (HS) rather than the normal HH. Looking for £[s]700[/s]. now reduced to £650

Very good condition. There is the usual minor ding on the corner of the headstock - seems to be a standard feature on any Bongo. And a couple of tiny dings/blemishes elsewhere.

Comes with a reasonable gigbag.

I am not looking for a trade - I need to reduce the number of basses I have.

So why sell this? I think it is a beautiful guitar, it sounds great and has the wow factor. But somehow I always seem to take one of my others to the gig.

I live near Guildford but travel quite widely (particularly Nottingham) so may be able to deliver elsewhere.

Important note - The picture is a stock picture as I could not get a good colour rendition on my camera. My Bongo does NOT have the pickup ramp that is on this photo. If you would like some pictures of my example, please ask and I will send some.

5.
This thread has been going a while - is this instrument still available?
Definately rather interested - I have been seized by an attack of long dormant GAS.
What is the neck width? Needs to be slim for me.

PS suddenly some recent posts come on screen - to answer my first question.

6. Fair enough I thought, when I was looking to sell something. Basschat is good, and deserves my financial support.

So, using PayPal I paid the annual subscription...

Only for it to be reimbursed about half an hour later....

What is this about? Was I just too quick to pay money before you were ready?

7. Price reduced to £[s]200[/s]. Now £180 ono

For Sale, my Traban Phoenix 35" scale bass.

The photos don't do it justice. The wood is a very dark green (not purple as the picture, though it does show the quilt of the finish), The inlays on the fretboard are amazing.

Don;t know much about this. It is different form the current model in their catalogue, which is now a 34" scale.

This was recently serviced, restrung and setup by my local bass-tech.

Well balanced, and light this is a joy to play. Lots of tone.

A stand out instrument for the gigging player.

Reason for selling - too many basses, and I need the room.

Would prefer collection, as it has no case so I don't want to box it up to post.

I am near Guildford..

Thanks for looking.

Since I can't upload a photo, see this link for the current model (in red or black - this colout no longer available)

http://www.trabenbass.com/phoenix.html

Below is the spec of the current model, which I believe as the same as this model.

PICKUPS traben custom combo | one humbucker and one j-bass style
ELECTRONICS traben t3 active pre-amp
CONTROLS three-band eq with volume and blend
BODY basswood
TOP quilt maple
FRETBOARD rosewood
NUT chrome plated brass
INLAY phoenix flame

8. My drummer mate asked me if I could find a bass guitar suitable for his wife to learn on. No problem, I said.

Now I've been thinking about this, it is not as easy as I thought….

She is only 5ft tall, slight build with arms and fingers in proportion. So she needs something light, ideally short scale with a narrow neck.

It needs to be pretty (after all, non-one want a butt ugly bass), and have a good tone with some grunt to it. If she practices grooving to the drummer, it will need to cut through as he is a loud drummer.

So, any thoughts as to suitable gear?

Even better if you have something suitable for sale or trade.
